55We had a blast as always. Being human some times when it’s cold and rainy I have second thoughts and want to stay home dry and warm.. that feeling leaves as soon as we arrive.
My fur kids have so much fun as do I, we always hate to leave. The new trails and continued clean and cared for piece of loved land is so delightful and a great way to recharge before the week starts. Thanks Paul for being such a grand steward of this land and most of all for sharing. Susan C.

55First time here! You have to get out, open the gate and drive through to park. The trails were great and had cute labels/names. There was a porta potty at the start, and dog water peppered throughout. So private and lovely - the dogs had so much fun and we loved walking around the trails too! It poured on us, so was muddy, but that’s to be expected in the PNW! :DRachel L.

55This sniffspot proved to be perfect for my dogs and me too. I kept them on leash so I could keep track of them as they are small and I'm sure they would be lost in the woods! Trails are easy to navigate and kept the dogs busy for the whole hour and now they are napping. Perfect! Thank you, Paul.Karen O.

55Seems they've done a lot of work on the trail system since the last time I was here! There is a map provided, which is great. Trails were all signed and there were arrows along the way to keep you going in the right direction. I always enjoy this property but it just keeps getting better!Teasha L.

55This place is beautiful. Love the upgrades. Still need adequate recall! But my wild kid didn’t end up on the road today so that was a real perk :) She spent some time glaring at blocked areas by the stream where she used to leave. Also the bathroom is a huge perk since I don’t live close. Can’t wait to see the spring flowering woodland trees again. So grateful to the owner for sharing this incredible space.Jo B.

55As always, the dogs have a glorious time here.
We appreciate the natural fencing/barriers to keep us on trail. The signs are a nice touch too.

55This was my first time to the sniffspot with my senior dog and a few of her young friends. We had a fantastic time! We stayed for 90 minutes and kept moving the whole time. There was so much to see, sniff and explore. The dogs loved running along the trails, playing in the small streams, and chasing each other around trees and over logs. I appreciated the scenery, fresh water for the pups, sanican, printed map and trash can. We will be back soon!Aubbie B.

55Absolutely charming spot. The winding trails are well maintained and make the location seem much bigger than it first appears. This has leapt to the top of our SniffSpot list. Joelle D.

55Paul is constantly working on improving his already wonderful Sniffspot. The last time I was there, I discovered beautifully made trail signs posted at all of the key intersections along the paths on his property. And I have really appreciated the covered shelter in this rainy weather. We will continue to visit frequently!Heidi S.

55Always a wonderful time. The new covered area was very fun to sniff, as were some frozen sticks from the recent windstorm and freezing temps! We love it here. Rebekah B.

55Such a beautiful space! It was ~20 degrees when we went, and the host was thoughtful enough to message in advance to let us know the water would be frozen so we should bring our pups :)
We really loved exploring the trails, and there was a nice straightaway to play some fetch as well.
There are a lot of places where you may lose sight of your dogs if they like to run around away from you. It’s fine for us, but something to keep in mind if that doesn’t work for you and your pups! Jenn S.

Frequently asked questions about Montesano dog hiking trails
What do private dog hiking trails in Montesano offer that public parks don't?
Private dog hiking trails in Montesano offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Montesano can't guarantee any of this. With 12 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.
Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Montesano?
Yes! Most of Montesano's 12 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Montesano listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.
When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Montesano?
Puppies can visit Montesano dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Montesano trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.
How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Montesano?
Browse Montesano's 12 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Montesano listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Murray's Meadow 5+ Acre Mostly Fenced Private Dog Park In Olympia is particularly popular among Montesano dog owners.
Can I rent dog hiking trails in Montesano by the hour?
Yes! All 12 dog hiking trails in Montesano are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Montesano dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.
What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Montesano?
The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Montesano mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 12 Montesano dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.
Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Montesano?
Yes! Montesano has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Montesano locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Montesano weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.
How do Montesano dog hiking trails help with dog training?
Montesano trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
