Carol's Private Dog Park in Monson

There is a rope across the driveway as you go in. If the rope is up, just lay it on the ground and drive through. Follow driveway towards the back of the barn. Turn left into the upper field, then right into the lower field where parking is available at the start of the entrance points to the trails. (There are signs directing you to parking and trails). There are two entrances to either trail: The North Trail and the South Trail. They are both marked with signage. You can use both or just one, whichever you'd like. You'll have access to approximately 10 acres of woods trails, a few streams; one with a bridge and others with a culvert, several rest areas with chairs/bench, a field by the parking area, and a dirt road that is also a snowmobile trail in the winter. Some of the woods trails can be muddy in some areas, especially after a bit of rain. Wear appropriate outdoor shoes and clothing. Flip flops are not recommended. You can also expect tall grass on parts of these trails. The trails are well marked with directional signs. Please stay on marked trails. Because we've had so much rain recently, we had to close off the connecting loop trail that would connect the North Trail to the South Trail. We will open it up again soon if the weather cooperates and it dries out a little more. It is just way too muddy for now. Both trails will dead end at this time. The end of the trails are marked with orange ribbon and signage. If you walk both main trails without stopping, it will take approximately 45-50 minutes at a leisurely type pace. Expect your dog(s) to be wet...Especially if they love water! (We have labs....They're always wet, but enjoying life and having so much fun!) They may even get muddy. There are several streams they can rinse off in if you'd like. There are towels available to dry them off. There are also dog treats, toys, bottled water for dogs and people, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, bug spray and a first aid kit available for you to use. We are adding more amenities and improvements as we go! Enjoy and have fun being outdoors in nature with your pup!😊

How do I know if a small dog park works for my dog?
Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing and distractions, to find a dog park that works for your furry friends. If your dog doesn't respond to owner commands, you can visit one of our enclosed dog park areas. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our small dog park sites where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can see any park amenities provided, including a park bench, water for dogs or water features such as kiddie pool or water hose. If your dog loves water, you can go to a park with water features, but if they don't love water, you can avoid them. We also recommend reading reviews to check for park maintenance issues and reaching out to the host with any questions. And lastly, of course, check park hours. Many of our parks are open from dawn until dusk.
