2/3 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Agility field

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Our Sniffspot is located on a quiet dead end in the back of Montara, CA. It is fully fenced. It contains 2 fields, a lower and upper, both suitable for use. I will have agility courses set up a portion of the time. Please do not move equipment if there is a numbered course set up. You are free to use tunnels and jumps, but please be careful on the contact obstacles if they are set up. Please watch your dogs and do not allow them to mark the obstacles, tunnels, jumps or weave poles. If they do, can you kindly rinse with the watering can. Do not place any human items or treats on the dog walk. Do not rest or lean on the dog walk. It is an expensive piece of equipment, not a table. Note: there are chickens and horses next door at times, please do not allow your dogs to bark or charge the fence at them. Also, do not let your dogs repeatedly run up to the horses if they are near the fence, and potentially scare them. They are not as visible from the lower field. I have an older dog that sometimes barks from inside the house but she is not visible. Thanks for exploring our Sniffspot!

55Very rustic and natural space that the dogs loved! The gate was open to the main road (Arrastradero), but I took the liberty to close it myself. As I was going back to the car for water, the host saw me and guided me to find a faucet so I didn’t need the bottle (it’s inside the pool area to the left where the little house is)! He also explained the 2 other openings in the gate that are intended for deer to cross safely (something I really appreciated)! Overall it was absolutely great and my dogs were very happy! Will come back!

55The space is great! Figuring out how to get to the yard was a little tricky but once we saw the stairs on the left we were able to make our way and my curious dog had a great time discovering. Will definitely be back 🙂

55My anxious rescue dachshund had the BEST time at this spot. The property is big and even has a pool you can use if you want! The host showed us the lay of the land when we got there and pointed out some of the gaps in the fence. My dog is not a wander and has a good recall, so it was not in issue for us, but you can always keep your dog on a longline or keep your eyes on them. We will definitely be back soon! :)

55Exactly as described and it suited our purpose perfectly! We were working reactivity to a stuffed dog, so our dog was on leash and we weren't concerned that it is partially fenced. Ted was friendly and helpful, and when showing me the lay of the land he pointed out exactly where to watch out for the gap in the fence. The slide next to the stairs makes it fun if you have kids with you. I heard there is an even longer slide, but we didn't have time to hit it up ;)

55The property had many nooks and crannies to explore with hills and winding paths. The description is accurate in that the fence is open in some parts, there is a pool, and activity on the street is visible. I kept my dog on a long lead that did get snagged from time to time, but it was all well worth it and a peaceful, enjoyable experience. The first hour my dog and I explored the property and the second we just sat in the shade of the tree and enjoyed the ambience. The owner was wonderful and spoke with me when I first arrived to give me the lay of the land. I will definitely be back to practice recall and outdoor obedience.

55Good amount of open space and plenty of things to sniff! A couple of open spots in the fence but my dog was more interested in the stuff inside. Lots of shaded places to play in or rest

55This location was PERFECT for us. It was a fantastic environment for enrichment activities; sniffing, ball-chasing, digging, running up and down the hill, etc. "Donny" is the adventurous type who could easily bolt and get lost, so I had to close a gate that opened onto a relatively busy street, and keep a close eye on him near a couple of gaps in the fence. Luckily for me, he didn't notice 'cause he was too busy exploring the space. He LOVED it. (He's snoring in his bed now, I'll have to wake him for dinner. That NEVER happens.) Our hosts, Ted and Ellen, are very warm, nice people who are also very welcoming and helpful. We'll be back!

Palo Alto dog fields feature amenities designed for full-speed running and fetch: wide-open grass fields, fetch lanes, and open running space, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Palo Alto hosts customize their spaces. Browse 59 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

How much does it cost to use Palo Alto dog fields?

Sniffspot runs on a membership model with monthly and annual plans that include credits toward Palo Alto dog park bookings. Members get discounted rates at participating Palo Alto spots, and new users can start with a 7-day free trial. There are no surprise booking fee. Your credits cover the reservation. How clean are private dog fields in Palo Alto compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Palo Alto see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog fields have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Palo Alto hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Palo Alto dog fields on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Palo Alto dog fields offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Palo Alto private dog fields let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog fields in Palo Alto?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Palo Alto that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Palo Alto dog fields have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Palo Alto dog fields allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Palo Alto dog fields welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Palo Alto where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Palo Alto dog fields for special events?

Many Palo Alto dog fields welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Palo Alto hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Palo Alto dog field listings for event policies.

How do Palo Alto dog fields accommodate dogs with special needs?

Palo Alto dog fields are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Palo Alto special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
