55This is a fantastic area! If you wanted to stick to a trail like experience, it’s there, but if you wanted to encourage the dogs to
go “all terrain” it’s also there. As a trainer, this is a perfect area for me to work on recall.Dan R.

55This was so perfect for what I needed! I was able to let my older dog off to run and had my puppy on a longline. It’s very muddy around the pond (to be expected) and there are burrs all over, but they’re huge, so they’re easy to pick out of fur :) Wear boots for sure, but no other real prep is needed. I highly recommend this spot!Trinity N.

55So much fun sniffing around and fetching in the pond! I kept my dog on a long leash for the most part, as I saw horse and a dog across a fenceline (and more barking off property, I wasn’t sure if they would run our way) and I didn’t trust my dog to stay away from them if he could see them. My dog did get some cactus stuck in his paw, there was one area we walked through towards the back northeast section that had a lot, didn’t have any issues other than that small section. I agree long pants are a must with the burrs out there. The pond was great! It’s sunken down and private feeling/no sightline to other properties or animals and we had a great time playing fetch! Thanks for letting us come out!Holly A.

55We had such a great time at this property! 🌟 My dogs absolutely loved it. Just a quick heads up, though—the entire area is filled with cacti and tall plants that have a lot of stickers, so be prepared for some intense walking to reach the pond. I was a bit anxious about stepping on a snake or something since it was pretty overgrown, but once I got to the pond, it was totally worth it! After overcoming my fears, I found that keeping an eye on where I stepped made all the difference. I’d recommend high boots or pants for anyone planning to visit.
The fence wasn’t a problem at all, but I did feel a bit of anxiety when we saw the family outside as we walked back to the car, especially since my older dog isn’t fond of strangers. I just made sure to stick to the outer edge, and everything went smoothly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!Haley M.

55A lovely wide open space with surprising amount of wildflowers! The pond water is nice. Id like to know more about where it flows from, but no concerns of toxic algae. Clear. Betty K.

55What a beautiful property!!! It was raining but we still had the best time! My older dog doesn’t do well around other people and dogs so this was a really amazing place to find to let him run and be free! 10/10! Haley M.

55The land was quiet and beautiful. The dog beach and water was so nice, and peaceful. We are putting one of our dogs down today and Valerie was so considerate to even leave some steak and beggin strips our for our Skye so she could enjoy some good meat! We hope to return in the future with our other dog and any new fuzzy buddies we welcome to our family. The overall experience was worth every penny. Adam T.

55Echo and I truly enjoyed ourselves at Valerie’s place. Parking was easy, such a wide open space and we had a blast playing in and around the water. She was kind enough to leave some treats and a towel which I was thankful for since Echo demolished the one I brought.
One thing to note is believe the description when it says there are cacti. It wasn’t congested with cacti and other prickly plants but there were enough that I checked our feets when we got back to the car and next time I’ll definitely be bringing her boots to help protect her while she’s blazing about. We will definitely be back sometime soon!Caitlin C.

55I took my pack out to visit this beautiful property. I had two medium sized dogs and 4 little dogs with me. The bigger dogs loved the property. There was a lot to explore, sniff around, space to roam and textures for stimulation. They enjoyed running, chasing, playing in the water, running up and down in the ravine. There were chuck it balls, toys, water bowls and everything was clearly marked. However, my smaller dogs were a little less enthusiastic. The time of year is likely to make a difference, but the grass was pokey, and my little dogs (8-20 pounds) had some challenges navigating some of the sticky terrain. We came home with a few good burs and thorns in the paws. The owner does mention there are cacti, and they were noticeable, but not numerous. It is recommended to have dogs leashed entering the property. For most people, they can probably take dogs off leash once entering into the beach area, but my dogs don't always have the best recall and have a pack mentality, therefore I was a little nervous letting my dogs off leash until we were further away from the parking area. There is a fence, but small dogs may be able to get under the fence and the parking spot is about 50-60 yards from Falcon Hwy. To enter into the property, you turn off Falcon Hwy, go through a driveway gate and the gate remained open. The open gate made me nervous to let my pack free roam on the property until I was further back and closer to the beach. Overall, Val was great in responding and communicating. She seemed very pleasant and helpful. My larger dogs had a great time and the property is beautiful. Sheila W.

55Dogs had a blast, playing in the creek and what's left of the snow. Its a bit treacherous with the snow melt over the water, but so worth it. Also, as others mentioned. Lots of dog poo to watch out for. We did our best to clean up our own, and some others. Cassy C.

Will I encounter other dogs at Peyton dog water parks?
Not a chance. Peyton dog water parks operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Peyton owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.
Are Peyton dog water parks safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a facility featuring pools, splash pads, or water play areas specifically designed for dogs to swim and cool off without overwhelming encounters. Many Peyton dog owners specifically choose dog water parks for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Absolutely! Peyton dog water parks are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a facility featuring pools, splash pads, or water play areas specifically designed for dogs to swim and cool off, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

Start by filtering Peyton's 6 dog water parks for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Peyton's The Oregon Trail (Dog trail by Sedalia, CO) with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Peyton owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.
What are Peyton's dog water park requirements?
All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Peyton host may have additional rules on their listing. Most dog water parks welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
