Jen's 100 Acre Private Dog Park and 2.5 miles of trails in Bath, Ontario.

Partially Fenced
100 acres

Daily 7:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. we offer a partially fenced 100 acre property where your dogs can run free. Updated March 8 2026: Spring is upon us! We've got snow, ice, earth, grass, and gravel. The birds are going crazy ๐Ÿ˜ There will be runoff out there, too, from melting ice. We keep the main trail plowed all winter, and side trails if the snow isn't too deep or heavy. Currently, we have 3 official (2.5 miles of) groomed trails (weather permitting), plus 2 groomed 1 acre field play areas. In warmer months, the main trail and playing fields are cut short if you wish to avoid longish grass. We have chairs available in the first field for you to relax. We have a Chuckit and balls available, fresh well water, bowls, and a garbage can in the first field also. There is a pond at the bottom of the first field to the right. Be advised that in spring and summer there are geese and ducks that nest there; muskrats and/or otters year round - please prevent your dogs from harassing the wildlife. I don't recommend the pond for swimming for humans at all and only for dogs in May, but dogs swim in there all summer and fall; it's your choice. In winter, the pond poses a danger. Please don't allow people or dogs to go on to the ice. There will be a warning sign in winter. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and woods. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. You can often see deer, wild turkeys, vultures, and lots of other birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Part way back the main trail goes through a shallow marsh. In the spring the frogs singing is quite remarkable! Further along there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming when it is filled with water. This is marked with orange pylons so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. Just past the culvert, there are 2 fields going East that are planted with winter wheat. We have trails cut around these that go along woods and takes about 15 minutes, ending back on the main trail. If you just travel along the main trail you will reach the big hill. There is a tree stand at the bottom of this hill that has a deer trail camera on the stair railing facing up the west side of the hill. Going East at the base of the hill is the entrance to The Shady Trail, a nice short trail going through the cedars. The entrance is marked with orange tape. This trail ends at a small field with a deer stand in it, a red arrow marks the way back to the main trail. In and back would take about 10 minutes. The main trail ends at the top of the big hill. Please stay out of the woods spring through fall due to ticks. You can use the woods once cooler weather comes, provided you can find your way out. We do have ATV trails with entrances along the big hill, marked by private property signage. These trails aren't always obvious to others and we don't want folks getting lost so please keep your bearings. Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the side trails, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. During spring and summer, prepare for insects. Wear hats and repellent. ** The main trail can be icy in spots in winter so wear appropriate boots. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shaded walk, go after 3 p.m. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. *Please remove your dogs' poop wherever they go!* *No smoking on the property* ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD, $11 per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $5.50/hour. On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks. They are dog and family friendly; an all around great place to visit! Frequently asked questions about Rideau Heights dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperamentsโ€”puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Rideau Heights can't guarantee any of this. With 8 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Rideau Heights?

Yes! Most of Rideau Heights's 8 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Rideau Heights listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights?

Puppies can visit Rideau Heights dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Rideau Heights trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Rideau Heights?

Browse Rideau Heights's 8 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Rideau Heights listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Jen's 100 Acre Private Dog Park and 2.5 miles of trails in Bath, Ontario. is particularly popular among Rideau Heights dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights by the hour?

Yes! All 8 dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Rideau Heights dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Rideau Heights?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Rideau Heights mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 8 Rideau Heights dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Rideau Heights?

Yes! Rideau Heights has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Rideau Heights locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Rideau Heights weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Rideau Heights dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Rideau Heights trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
