With big wide open trails, forest, marsh, creeks and wildlife, this doggy paradise is attracting visitors from all over southern Ontario. It's been muddy and overcast for a few weeks but finally the sun has come out! The water is not yet frozen over but the ground is hard making for an easier (and less messy!) walk. Trail map is found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1do57Iq23GVfcDxiEGihv7dVUWFXBSrGq/view?usp=drive_link Trails are open, mowed and maintained all year long. In the winter I use them for cross-country skiing. It's OK if you or your dog walk in the paths made by my skis. We host a beekeeper who has about 40 hives on a well-marked and avoidable section of one trail. The bees won't be out until April but please avoid the hives anyway. Read the reviews to get a good sense for what kind of experience you will have. I am grateful for all the positive feedback and pledge to make your experience just as fantastic.
"IMPORTANT: All prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD" We are sorry but we are closing our Sniffspot effective March 15, 2024. Beautiful private property in old Ancaster. 22 acres of old forest, trails, private lake, streams, wetlands, hills, large lawn areas. Pesticide free.
Explore a unique piece of history while enjoying the tranquility of large, private, well-appointed land, located next to an original stonework trestle constructed in the 1850s for the Erie Railroad. Your dogs will love wander along the abandoned railroad bed, trekking through the shale-bottomed stream, or relaxing while overlooking the water. While mostly shallow, the stream deepens at points for short swims. Your dog will love the rocks and sticks and playing in the water. The site is approximately 3 acres with a quarter mile marked trail. There are three large tables with plenty of stools, this spot is a great place to have a picnic while your dog plays. The wifi works well here too, just in case you need to check in.
Large open wildflower fields. Mowed grass trails. Some wooded trails. Hills and flat areas. Horse pastures are fenced with electric fence( not included in Sniff Spot) No real definite property markers (neighbors mow theirs as lawn, our fields are left naturally) so be aware when off leash.
Come, take a walk through my yard, into the woods and down a slope to get to Cazenovia Creek. While down by the creek, you will most likely not encounter another human being. The piece of creek is bordered by Northrup, Transit and the bridge on Southwestern Boulevard. Feel free to explore through the woods in solitude, it is a 10 minute walk down to the creek. I have an unfenced yard, so please have your furry friend on a leash if they are not leash trained. Once you get into the woods, you are more than welcome to go off leash. This is definitely a walk for boots or hikers. If it has been raining, the trail down will be muddy. The walk to the slope is wooded with many obstacles but definitely walkable ducking here and there under a branch.
