55Beautiful piece of land for our pups to run. The grass/path was not maintained when we were there and was a bit too long for our group. The pups still had a wonderful time :) Kristen H.

55What a great spot! Pack bug spray & dress for the elements, this is a beautiful nature walk. The dogs had a great time exploring. We did the loop, which took us about 15-20 min to complete. Thank you for sharing your space with us! Trudy N.

55Haven’t made it out in a while, and it was so nice to be back to enjoy this beautiful property! We really appreciated having water for our dog available as I completely forgot to bring some, and she was tired right out:) Thanks again for making your space available 🐶Trisia E.

55The important bits of the trail (like close to the road) are fully fenced. The dogs had a blast and it was a small hike for the humans too. Will definitely book again. Mandy Y.

55I love the size of this Sniffspot. There was so much room to run, and places for my dog to explore. He saw his first grouse. It was our first time in a "partially fenced" spot. Sandy A.

55This is our second time here, and we had a great time. Still a bit snowy and muddy in spots, but we expected it given the slow start to this spring. A few dogs at the boarding place but didn’t cause any concern. Our dog loves running through the wide open spaces and trails here! Thank you! Kelly S.

55We always have a great time here, there is lots of land to run around and explore. Getting in with a car this time of year and in this weather may be a little difficult but I was fine in my SUV! We couldn't hear any barking and didn't see any other dogs which was great for my reactive dog. I think most dogs could get over or through the fence in a lot of areas so I just keep my dog on a long line and we have a wonderful time! Totally worth the drive out if you're in the city; she's been conked out since we got home. Kari W.

55We drove straight down to the sniffspot parking so we didn’t engage with the boarding dogs. It had nice trails, and was peaceful. I’d say 1.5hours is a good amount of time. With the snow melting it was super hard to walk through with the deep snow so I will be back when the snow is gone! Didn’t see any other animals. My dog did climb through the fence once so if your dog doesn’t have good recall maybe be aware. Ana A.

55Lots of fresh snow. Maybe be mindful of this if you have a small or senior dog, as the trail wasn’t walked since the last snowfall. Snowshoes recommended if you’re one of the next visitors! We packed it down a bit but left early because it tired us out! Joss M.

55Great trails. Just be careful of the deep snow melting and keep your dog on leash until you are on the trails since there are dogs in the yard. Ashley M.

55Great as always, just be aware that it’s quite icy out right now (as it is everywhere), especially down the little hill from parking into the entrance of the park. I recommend brining ice cleats (you can get them off Amazon or Canadian Tire)! Joss M.

55Highly recommend this location. Everything about our experience was great. Our girl ran & ran, she checked out the various trails, & sniffed everything. Sadly Ulla will not play with a ball, but there is a bin of balls & chuckits to play with. Nicely packed trails. Clearly we loved it. Shannon K.

Frequently asked questions about Sherwood Park dog hiking trails
Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Sherwood Park?
Private dog hiking trails in Sherwood Park eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Sherwood Park's 3 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Sherwood Park dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?
Sherwood Park dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Sherwood Park dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Sherwood Park dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?
Sherwood Park owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Sherwood Park reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Sherwood Park dog hiking trails?
Yes! Sherwood Park dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Sherwood Park dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Sherwood Park dog hiking trails good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Sherwood Park dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Sherwood Park avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Sherwood Park dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Sherwood Park dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Sherwood Park dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
What do Sherwood Park dog owners say about dog hiking trails?
Reviews of Sherwood Park dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs.
