55A really cute back and side yard. Secure and welcoming. Quiet street. Briefly heard neighbor and dog, but fencing is wooden so we saw nothing. Host set out a small bowl with dog treats and poop bags. There were chairs and a table available. It's a good exploring yard and like host says small and medium dogs will do best. Cassie R.

55ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Thank you so much for putting the table down and providing us toys along with cleaning dog wipes and spray. My pup loved the area and I’m so happy that we can continue to practice his off leash commands while having the security of the gate around us. We will 100% be back ☺️Lluvia C.

55This spot was perfect for our rowdy labs who could run around for hours. They're obsessed with water so they were very happy to splash around in the pond. I was worried they might be weird with seeing horses bc I'm pretty sure they haven't seen one before, but they didn't even seem to notice. The only issue we had was one of my girls found horse poop and tried eating it, which I never expected to be an issue 🤦♀️ but now we know for next time! The host provided a whole bin of toys and water, and there's a table to sit at. We will definitely be back to this spot.Amanda C.

55I have a deaf dog, so we've really enjoyed getting to utilize sniff spots! We work on a lot of off leash activities that we never would out in the world, where I have no control over her recall. She gets to run and run and run and it's just THE BEST.
This might be my favorite one so far! I'm upset we didn't try it sooner! it's a dreamy drive, the view is great on the land, there are horses nearby. Dolly actually sat and just watched them for a while while we did treats and worked on her reactions and impulse control. it was really great! Being deaf, sometimes she just likes to watch things, in a place that is safe and without judgment. This was such a treat!
There's a dog in the neighboring yard who did bark, but dolly approached and they chased each other through the fence. The owners also seemed nearby and willing to jump in. There is an area by one of the fences that has access to some shallow marshy water. which my dog really enjoyed but some may want to know about. big bucket of toys. we brought our chuckit, but if we had forgotten, there were plenty of options. seating and even a table. there was a big water trough and a hose that went into it, but kind of murky. I found myself wishing I had brought a separate water, but that's just something I know for the future!
We picked up a few poops that weren't ours--which is a note to other pet owners not the hosts. We're lucky to have access to these spaces. please allow us the continued joy, and help keep everyone safe, by cleaning up after your pups.
Can't wait to come back and run and look at those horses again! Amber B.

55We had an excellent visit! Plenty of high ground to not get super duper muddy, my dog isn't much of a mud puppy anyway. Plenty of room to run around and lots of good farm and wetland smells. Also, an awesome little toy box filled with apparently really good smelling toys that he was obsessing on.Tammy S.

55Wow!! Everything I imagined and better. More than enough space to explore. And the space is beautiful, well kept, and comfortable. I have a crew of 4 rescued misfits and each of them enjoyed this spot for different reasons. To my surprise they all loved romping around in the pond together. The agility equipment was fun to introduce them to and engage with them on. The sounds of the birds and frogs was enjoyed by all, especially me! I wasn't sure how they would do with seeing horses, luckily only one of my dogs was naughty and harassed them a bit through the fence, but the horses were safe in an adjacent field, and not bothered in the slightest by her antics. I would have booked my next visit before even leaving, but was having too much fun to take away from the time I had to spend here! Oh and being able to pull my vehicle completely into the fenced area and let them loose was a huge bonus!April N.

Frequently asked questions about Smith River dog parks
Why are private dog parks better than public ones in Smith River?
Private dog parks in Smith River eliminate the major risks of public facilities: unpredictable dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, and chaotic environments that can overwhelm puppies, seniors, small dogs, or reactive pets. Sniffspot's 9 private Smith River locations offer complete privacy, professionally maintained spaces, and flexible scheduling. Whether you have a nervous puppy or a dog-selective adult, private bookings give you control and peace of mind.
How are Smith River Sniffspot locations different from public dog parks?
Smith River Sniffspots offer: (1) Complete privacy with no other dogs during your booking, (2) Controlled environments without aggressive dogs or chaos, (3) Flexible scheduling based on availability, not rigid park hours, (4) Safety for dogs of all temperaments and ages, (5) Vetted and reviewed locations—93% of visits get 5-star reviews. You get all the benefits of off-leash exercise in Smith River without public dog park risks.
Can reactive dogs safely use Smith River dog parks?
Yes, and this is exactly what Sniffspot was designed for! Smith River has 9 private locations where reactive dogs can exercise off-leash without encountering other animals. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers between visitors, your reactive dog won't face the triggers that make public dog parks impossible. Many Smith River owners of reactive dogs rely on Sniffspot as their only safe exercise option.
What amenities help anxious or reactive dogs in Smith River?
Look for Smith River locations with "fewer dogs seen/heard" to minimize triggers for reactive dogs. Secure fencing prevents escapes during stress. Quiet, spacious properties reduce anxiety. Some Smith River hosts specifically cater to nervous or reactive dogs with extra privacy features. Read reviews to find hosts who understand fearful or reactive dog needs.
How clean are Smith River dog parks?
Unlike public dog parks where cleanliness varies wildly, Sniffspot hosts in Smith River maintain their own spaces and take pride in providing clean environments. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers) to prevent disease transmission. Many Smith River hosts provide poop bags and trash cans. Reviews highlight cleanliness, so you can choose well-maintained locations.
Can I visit Smith River dog parks with multiple dogs?
Yes! Most Smith River Sniffspots welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (like 2-3 dogs maximum), which will be noted on the listing. If you have several dogs—especially if some are reactive toward other dogs—Sniffspot's private bookings let them play together safely without outside interference.
Are Smith River dog parks good for senior dogs?
Yes! Smith River Sniffspot locations are excellent for senior dogs who need gentle exercise without the stress of public dog parks. Older dogs can explore at their own pace, rest when needed, and avoid being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or large dogs. Look for Smith River spots with flat terrain, shaded areas, and smaller sizes if your senior has limited mobility.
How do I find dog parks in Smith River for small dogs?
Filter Smith River's 9 locations by "small dog friendly" to find spaces specifically suited for toy breeds and small dogs. These tend to be more intimate, with secure fencing that prevents squeezing through gaps. Some Smith River hosts have separate small dog areas or cater specifically to petite pups who might get overwhelmed at large public dog parks.
