50 Acres Puppy Paradise - Train & Play

Unfenced
50 acres

Dec 1 2025 Update - Back Open! Oct 1 2025 Update - It’s hunting season, and we are closing October and November 2025 as a precaution. We don’t want a stray hunting dog to interfere with someone’s Sniffspot time. So we made the decision to close for 2 months. We’re sorry, it was a tough decision, but think it’s best. We promise - We’ll reopen in December 2025. Welcome to 50 acres of puppy heaven! Located off Crittenden Road in Suffolk, Virginia. Please take dirt lane, there is no house. Please do not disturb neighbors. Drive or Walk through the gate and the whole area is yours! There are walking trails in the woods, a pond to find and a river to explore. The open field is wonderful for training and or play. Your dog will love exploring this wonderful property. ***This is the country. The land is wonderful to explore but it is vacant and undeveloped. You will encounter nature, really in the spring and summer. There are ticks, snakes, uneven ground, rabbits, wet spots, etc. Please only book if you are used to the outdoors and being adventurous!*** Update from my guests comments: Wear bug spray when it’s warm, check for ticks after a visit, boots are recommended after rainy days, dogs may get muddy bring towels and look for the new mailbox to identify the dirt lane off the road. Enjoy!

Frequently asked questions about Wakefield dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Wakefield offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Wakefield offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Wakefield can't guarantee any of this. With 9 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Wakefield?

Yes! Most of Wakefield's 9 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Wakefield listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Wakefield?

Puppies can visit Wakefield dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Wakefield trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Wakefield?

Browse Wakefield's 9 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Wakefield listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite 50 Acres Puppy Paradise - Train & Play is particularly popular among Wakefield dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Wakefield by the hour?

Yes! All 9 dog hiking trails in Wakefield are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Wakefield dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Wakefield?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Wakefield mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 9 Wakefield dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Wakefield?

Yes! Wakefield has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Wakefield locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Wakefield weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Wakefield dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Wakefield trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
