Since 2008, we have provided thousands of dogs and cats with a second chance at a happy ending.
rescue
Cats are often placed on a shelter’s Euthanasia list because of acute illness or behavior. We rescue these types of animals so that we can provide them with necessary medical attention and a second chance at long and healthy lives.
Desert Paws also takes pride in pulling Ringworm+, FIV+, and FeLV+ cats that might otherwise be euthanized due to their condition.
education
Arizona has one of the highest homeless pet populations in the country! We strive to inform and educate our community about the importance of spay and neuter and the value of commitment to a healthy-pet-lifestyle. These values must be prioritized in order for our community to reduce our homeless pet population and reduce unnecessary euthanization of otherwise adoptable pets.
Mission and Vision
The mission of Desert Paws Rescue is to provide a new beginning for cats who are at risk of being surrendered to a high-kill shelter, and cats at shelters who might otherwise be euthanized. We provide safe and loving foster environments with the goal of placing our animals in new forever homes.
Adoption Policy
Dog Adoption Policy
It is the policy of Desert Paws Rescue that all potential dog adopters complete the Dog Adoption Consultation Form and complete an interview with an Adoption Coordinator in order to be considered as a forever home for our dogs and puppies. Completion of the application and interview process does not guarantee an adoption approval or guarantee the adoption of a particular dog or puppy. Desert Paws Rescue is a privately run, non-profit organization and reserves the right to refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the dog or puppy, based on our principles, policies, and standards.
Desert Paws Rescue will determine the best home for each dog or puppy based on the application and interview process. After review of the adoption consultation form and the completion of the interview with the Adoption Coordinator, Desert Paws Rescue may recommend a different dog or puppy that is more suitable to your household.
