"I started volunteering at friends for life in October of 2024. They have many dedicated volunteers who donate their time to this cause. FFL is also filled with a handful of incredible staff who work endlessly to help these dogs and cats. They truly put these animals above anything. The staff  welcomes all animals with open arms and truly some of the most heavy cases to help rehabilitate them. Friends for life has amazed me with their compassion and integrity surrounding these animals. It's one of the highlights of my week when I get to go there and spend time with some of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.  They have always welcomed me with open arms there. I have the upmost respect for everyone involved with friends for life. Im honored to be apart of Friends for Life."

"Friends for Life goes the extra mile, which most animal shelters don't want. Each person connected with FFL has the same goal: animal welfare and community support. They have the food bank program, free behavior consults for the community, TNR, and behavior training programs for the volunteers, all science-based and with the most care for each animal's well-being. FFL was the first No-kill shelter in Houston, if not in Texas. Our regular use of sniff-spot is part of the program for enriching and meeting the basic needs of our dogs’ lives, all donated by volunteers. That's how passionate about this shelter the whole tribe is. At Friends for Life, we walk the talk, and every animal's life matters. I could keep talking about all the effort, love, and sweat of every member, but I think y’all got the picture. Friends for Life deserves to be #1. Ask them for details of what they did during Harvey. I’ve never seen something so amazing like that before: The first co-living (animals and humans) camp in the US for citizens who lost their homes during Hurricane Harvey. Come on! It's incredible work made by people that live for that."
