Lots of space to run and swim. A trail is also available around the pond at the edge of the north field, along the edge of the wooded, pine area.
Daily 6 A.M. until 9 P.M. we offer a partially fenced, groomed 1 acre + 2 field play areas, where your dogs can run free. We have chairs in the fields for you to relax. We have a Chuckit available to throw balls for your dogs. There is a pond in the first field but I don't recommend it for swimming except in May. Fresh well water in a bucket, for dogs, and bowls, are provided in the first field. From there we have a mile long gravel walking trail along fields and forest. It's very straight, and if you stay on the trail, you can't get lost. It is very quiet and peaceful. Part way back there is a small run-off creek and metal culvert that is suitable for dog swimming in the spring and early summer. This is marked so is avoidable if you put your dogs back on a lead as you pass. You can often see deer, wild turkeys and lots of birds, sometimes bald eagles. A walk to the end and back is 2 miles and takes 40 minutes at a moderate pace. Just past the culvert, we offer a nice trail around a wheat field, going East initially. This trail is very pretty and easy to follow. It's about half a mile and takes 10 or 15 minutes to walk. There are a couple of wet/muddy spots so be mindful. Be dressed for gravel on the trail, uneven footing on the wheat field trail, and potential water and mud puddles on the property in wet seasons and after rain. The main trail runs North/South so if you want a sunny walk, go at midday. A shady walk, go after 3 p.m. Cooler times are before 11 a.m. We plan to add a trail through the woods in the fall once the insects and ticks die off. We have a white garbage can for poop but please use biodegradable dog poop bags. ***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD per hour for the first dog, subsequent dogs are $6/hour and guests will be charged in USD*** ** I offer memberships for returning guests https://www.sniffspot.com/to/3swhv On your way home, stop at MacKinnon's brewery just down the road for food and drinks.
