Private Dog Park In Waterdown at Goldenwood Acres

Welcome to Goldenwood Acres! On our 26 acre hobby farm, we have a 6 acre fully fenced farm field/dog park. Ride up and park at the white barn, and walk your leashed puppers to the field past our chickens, gardens, woodmill, and ponds. From the barn to the dog park you will get familiar with our surroundings and other fences. There is access to the forest and two ponds on the property. Crossing through the tree line you have private access to the 6 acre field. Four-foot tall fencing is installed for your security. Note in the Winter, we have removed the gate due to snow and maintenance. Gates will be installed before March 2024. The best time to come is July between September. Come walk between the sunflower rows that grow up to 10 feet tall! We cut the field between the sunflowers, make trails and play spots. We also leave big areas untouched for our honeybees (hives located in the other field). Enjoy seeing natural landscapes, trees, and privacy. Have fun, play catch and let your animal have unleashed freedom! Please check out the last photos, we have uploaded a printable "safety map" and legend for your use. Note the fire pit is not available during the winter season (November to March). Fencing Details: The 6-acre Dog Park Field is permanently fenced with approximately 2,500 linear feet of 4’ tall farm fence. The farm fence consists of professionally installed 2” by 4” squares of wire mesh and 6” cedar posts. There is on openings for the main gates that is currently open. The opening is 16’ wide. If you look at the photos you can see the locations of the gates on the main photo or “safety map” (see photos and captions). If you have any questions please let me know. We have more fencing on other parts of the property outside of our dog park. Refer to the safety map (see photos).

Jeannette was a gracious host who met us upon arrival. A hidden gem of a spot with a well-kept path around a small lake. It's a spectacular place to watch the leaves change colour in tranquility. Our dog Archie took advantage of being off-leash to run full bore up and down the trail and sniff for critters along the water without restriction. Thank you, Jeannette, for sharing your place with us.

Absolutely gorgeous spot to hike! The dogs loved it and even swam in the lake in October lol! I've seen ticks mentioned in other reviews - our dogs are on prevention and I didn't find any ticks on them at all after our hike. I will say that if you have a hairy dog you might want to bring a brush as there were a lot of burrs.
