🐾 We have a 30x170-foot grassy area which is fully enclosed by a 5-foot chain link fence and covered with large trees, bushes, and a metal shelter with 3 sides enclosed for escaping a surprise rain shower. Upgrades and toys are continually added whenever funds allow.  💕 We offer this relaxing space for your dog to play off-leash in honor of our sweet German Shepherd, Hydee, who passed away in the summer of 2025. Our property is a NWF Certified Wildlife Habitat; and we hope your pup will enjoy sniffing around and encountering the squirrels, birds, rabbits, and butterflies as much as she did. 🐓 The only outdoor pets on our property are a few chickens inside a pen about 120 feet away from Hydee's Hangout, though you do walk within 30 feet of them when you enter the backyard. We ask that you please keep your dog on leash until you pass through the second gate into Hydee's Hangout. Please do not approach the chicken pen with your dogs. (Frightened hens won’t lay eggs!) 🏞️ A city park sits across the street from our property, which provides additional parking if you are meeting a furry pal for a playdate, along with public restrooms, paved paths, a gazebo, and a butterfly garden to explore on leash. 🚗 We are conveniently located one mile off I-57 for travelers who want to give their pup a peaceful bathroom break and a chance to stretch their legs. 🕘 Open 9-9 Mon-Sat. If your dog can't resist the temptation of a "not theirs'' duck, chicken, or cat, then we need 24 hr notice to keep them put up. We love all our animals. We request you respect our wishes. We will accommodate you the best we are able. All profits go towards fencing, toys, poo bags, and maintenance of the dog play areas. We are a quiet campground (HipCamp) as well as a Sniffspot and Rover. Repeat. We don't have fences, so you may encounter wildlife and other humans. This area has a large shaded overhang (fully shaded in the afternoons) and is fully turfed - no mud! It's a perfect space for fetch sessions or play dates with your best fur friends. The Hollow is cleaned and sanitized every day. Dog waste bags and water bowls are provided, as well as restroom access. Because it is located adjacent to our daycare operation, noise may be heard from dogs in the other play yards periodically.
