Private dog park

Dog park in the forest near Bellfountain.

Partially Fenced
25 acres

The property is a horse ranch on 25 acres surrounded by private forest. There is a shallow year round creek that is refreshingly cold and also a large pond that your dog can swim in. There are hiking trails that start at the edge of the property. The trails are mostly uphill. The outdoor and indoor arenas are available for an extra fee. They are mostly dog proof for large dogs but not escape proof for small dogs. The horses wander around the property early in the morning so if your dog chases horses it should be kept on a leash around the horses. I recommend that I show you around your first time out here. To get here you must be prepared to drive down 5 miles of gravel road. There is a gate to get into the property. The gate code will be sent to you with the welcoming message. Cell phone signals are weak once you get on the gravel so check the pre-visit message sent two hours before the appointment before you get out of cell service.

Frequently asked questions about Eugene dog hiking trails

What amenities do Eugene dog hiking trails typically include?

Eugene dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: woods, hiking trail and scenic views, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Eugene hosts customize their spaces. Browse 9 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

Can I find dog hiking trails in Eugene with water access?

Many Eugene dog hiking trails include water features! Filter by amenities to find swimming pools, natural ponds, or water play areas. Water is perfect for hot Eugene days, water-loving breeds, or low-impact exercise for seniors and disabled dogs. Each listing specifies water type, depth, and safety features. Some Eugene hosts provide life vests or shallow options for nervous swimmers.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Eugene compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Eugene see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Eugene hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Eugene dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Eugene dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Eugene private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Eugene?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Eugene that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Eugene dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Eugene dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Eugene dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Eugene where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Eugene dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Eugene dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Eugene hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Eugene dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Eugene dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Eugene dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Eugene special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
