Tail Waggers private dog park

Unfenced
15 acres

Your attendance has allowed us to continue development of our Disney Land for dogs and being a contributor to the Portland Humane Society. Toward that end this is what we have to offer at present with more to come. Two main walking trails, with two offshoot trail loops at present. Signage is there at each to help you in and out of each. Each has a selection of walking sticks at the trailhead, should you choose to use them. Appropriate good grip footwear is recommended especially during our monsoon season. Trail one, the shorter of the two, is about 25 minutes give or take, and takes a degree of dexterity more than trail too. Trail two contains two loops trails that take 30 to 45 minutes there and back to the parking area. The trail has two rest areas to sit with umbrellas to keep the rain off when needed. Trail 2, loop two has large Vern plant areas like you may have seen in the Jurassic Park movies. There are (2) Two parking areas, one much larger for up to 25 cars to accommodate larger group events. The 2nd is at the top of the hill b4 you go down into valley were you will see a sign letting you know that if your early you can park there till your designated reservation time. At the bottom you will find a porta potty for your convenience with a lighted pathway after the sun has set. For your convenience you will find seven Poop Depots with bag dispensers throughout the park. A guest ( Mark) donated a fire hydrant as a much appreciated pee station for many pups. There are two water play areas. The preferable one is now down by our inlet water pipes. Its a shallow pool area feed by spring water, so there is no concern about algae. We call it the pup self wash area because it’s only belly deep and is an absolute favorite of the pups to play in. It’s also proved to help pups who might be afraid or timid of playing in water to investigate it a little more. The other is the larger man-made pond area. This at one time was a large beautiful pond, that we had invested a large amount of money to development a Doggie Dock Dive. We had also a selection of small watercraft to help acclimate pups to being on the water with a parent. It included a selection of different size lifejackets for parents and pups. Floatable toys for retrieval were nearby. All that however became unusable because our neighbor who controls the water level with a dam did not like us having a private dog park and said if we didn’t shut it down he would just empty the pond, which he ultimately did and mow as a result has become a mud flat. We have a solution that will bring the level back up and have set up a Go Fund Me to help us with that expense. Any donation would receive a gift certificate to show our appreciation. They can use it for their own use or it can be given to a non Sniff Spot member to use at our park for various functions. Our Muddy Paw Spa has multiple cleaning brushes, paw wash cups, a spray hose and the more favorite is a water spray wash glove that sprays water out of the palm of the glove. This is an important option especially during our monsoon season to clean pups and shoes before getting into the car. Included, are multiple towels to dry off your pup, and a close line to hang the wet towels on to dry off. In the area where you see all the picnic tables, you will see a Doggie Dig Box filled with beach sand for those pups who have the need to just dig. Near to that is an upright 50 Pd “Tug of War” that big pups love. Next is a childrens play area to play in and on. We installed a tetherball for the children, but soon learned that the pups love playing with it, who would have guessed? Down from the children’s play area is a comprehensive agility course with all the obstacles that you would see on the YouTube obstacle course events. Love seeing the pups racing around that. Multiple toy stations. If on your visit, you would like to donate unused toys for other pups to enjoy that would certainly be appreciated. A long mowed area above the pond for long distance ball and frisbee retrieval. They’re also a few frisbee catchers there to practice frisbee throwing accuracy. Long, medium range and putter frisbees are provided. A 10 x 10 doggy dig sandbox for those pups to enjoy digging. A tug-of-war for those pups will enjoy a good tug. The picnic area has been expanded to accommodate pup, birthday parties, pup, groups, and family gatherings. For those bringing young children, a swingset. Solar lighting around trees, parking area and the porta potty will help to illuminate these areas when darkness falls. There are water dispensers with water bowls. There is another area being developed presently that will become an urban agility course.

Nehemiah lane dog farm

Unfenced
30 acres

The property includes 30 unfenced acres of tall grass, trees, and quiet trails. The main trail makes up the perimeter of the property. It is 1 mile long and you will need to traverse underneath the bridge to Accsess the second half. There is limited access to the Yamhill River on both sides of the bridge. Some areas will be swampy during the winter and spring, especially in the lower sections. Please be aware of common forest hazards such as blackberry bushes, poison oak, nettles, and the occasional downed tree. There are no homes, restrooms or residents on the property only neighbors and a small garden area. You are welcome to explore both sides of the bridge. While there are "No Trespassing" signs posted near it, they are only intended to discourage the local homeless community. During the summer and fall, feel free to enjoy the fruit growing throughout the property most of which is at the far NW end of the grass road near the entrance. Deer and a variety of birds also call this place home and are best left undisturbed. You will find a couple of chairs and a small table set out for you to enjoy a quiet moment or watch the sunset. Please be respectful of our neighbors and remember to pick up after yourself and your dogs. Much of the property is being reforested in partnership with the USDA. / NRCS and is intentionally wild. If you bring kids feel free to use the swings at your own risk. Have a great time, Joshua

Please reserve your time a minimum of an hour ahead of time. We are a working farm and can't always be checking the app. We have logging roads and fields open to dog owners. Enjoy our scenic 120-acre farm with your puppies. Please feel free to leave a review. The landscape is unmanicured and slightly wild with quail, rabbits, and deer frequenting the area daily. A new forest has been planted, and the baby trees we ask to be left at peace to grow. We might be out working somewhere else on the farm and hope to see the blackberries slowly diminish, making this place more hospitable every year.

55Our first time visiting. Pups had a great time, they liked the tall grass area behind the backyard and sniffing the big brush piles. We managed to walk about 2.5 miles. I wish I had brought the pups booties to protect their feet as there was a lot of what I think is native blackberry vines on the paths. But overall a great visit. Beautiful view. My dogs liked the little play pool a lot, too!

55My goldens had a blast at Ryan's - they especially enjoyed the long grass fields with the puppy play pool in the back yard. All the amenities were there as posted and Ryan was kind enough to provide us with instructions when we first arrived. Lots of land for sniffs, long runs, and jumping. There are wood piles which my dogs enjoyed sniffing around & climbing up a few. As others have mentioned, make sure to wear good shoes for hiking around in since the space provides tons of options to get out in nature. Thank you Ryan for a great visit!

55GORGEOUS property!! The walk down to the field was a little longer than anticipated, but still beautiful. Plan for more time than you think to get back up to the parking area, especially if you're not used to steep inclines. I'd recommend packing water down with you if your pup is the type to need some intermittently. We saw many garter snakes, which my pup loves to chase.

55At the time of year, it's a field of grass the paths mowed through it. In some places the grass was about a foot tall, in other places up to five feet tall! It was like a safari for the dogs. It's nice and enclosed in here. We let our dogs off leash in here and felt comfortable even though we do not let them off leash on hikes.

55We had a bit of confusion when we arrived as there were no signs and there was a beekeeper (and his van) blocking the entrance to the tree tunnel, where the entrance is; but the host came out to show us where to go. My dog is very fearful/reactive of human, especially big men in beekeeper suits, but once we finagled our way around him we had a good time. This is a lovely a serene field.

I was so impressed with the amenities, the yard area was really nice with picnic tables, a dog pool (my girls favorite) play structures, drinking water available and trash near by for poop. All the trails were great, it was nice to walk around while the dogs explored! Will definitely be coming back.

55Jake and Mabel had another great sniff! This spot does not feel as new as it is, as the hosts seem to be adding amenities and maintaining it great! The mowed trails were great racetracks :)

55This is a wonderful place to bring high energy dogs that have good recall. My Aussie had a fabulous time bounding through the grass and having zoomies multiple times during our visit. He had loved eating grass, rolling in the straw, and getting himself all grubby. It’s a beautiful property and the humans can get a good workout on all the trails that are cut through the grass.

Frequently asked questions about Gaston dog hiking trails

Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Gaston?

Private dog hiking trails in Gaston eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Gaston's 24 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Gaston dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?

Gaston dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Gaston dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Gaston dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?

Gaston owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Gaston reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Gaston dog hiking trails?

Yes! Gaston dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Gaston dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Gaston dog hiking trails good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Gaston dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Gaston avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Gaston dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Gaston dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Gaston dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Gaston dog owners say about dog hiking trails?

Reviews of Gaston dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Sauvie Island, Riverfront, Field, 40 Acres, swing on River is particularly praised in Gaston. Read reviews to see real experiences from Gaston dog owners with similar needs.
