Mary's Private Dog Park In Hutchinson

Fully Fenced
1 acre

A fully fenced acre of doggy fun! If your pup likes to run, lounge in the sun, play with toys, or explore... there is a bit of everything here.😊 Plenty of toys but none too large to get in the way of running and burning off all that energy. (I do like to meet with you briefly the first visit and require all pups have current vaccinations.)

Atlas Ad Astra Dog Park & Paths

Partially Fenced
5 acres

Matthew and Leigh Ann own Atlas Ad Astra Adventure Resort, a campground and RV park on the site of a decommissioned Atlas F Missile Silo. Our 24-acre property is rural, but only a couple of miles off I-70 in the heart of Kansas. Along with tent camping and RV Parking, we also give Historical Silo Tours daily at 8:30am and 5:30pm (must be booked in advance). We are located in the midst of a windfarm, with large turbines in the not too far distance, but not directly our property. We do live on-site with our 2 dogs: Buddy, a tri-color Border Collie/Aussie; and Bing, a German Short-haired Pointer. They are both friendly seniors that get along well with other friendly dogs. The dog park area is situated on a section of the land, which is a large field of more than 5 acres. Although our land is not fenced everywhere, it is bounded by cropland and/or pasture on all sides. Dogs with good recall can easily hike with you on the mowed perimeter paths or enjoy bounding around in the tall grasses. There is about mile of mowed pathways around the perimeter of the entire property. The views are beautiful, especially at sunset! Our neighbors have cattle, which can be close to a portion of the perimeter trail. There are a few areas on the grounds that are under construction, but it is easy to avoid these areas with your dogs. Dogs are able to be off leash, anywhere on our site as long as they have good recall, are well mannered, and are friendly toward other dogs and people in general. Our park is not a good fit for sensitive, reactive or aggressive dogs. Please note that we cannot ensure you will be the only ones on the entire property at any given time, as our campers may also have dogs and kids on the property. However, we do have a designated parking area for Sniffspot close to the trail and you will have at least part of the dog zone to yourself during your allotted time. If you are in the common campground and RV areas, we ask you to leash your dog if it is not well behaved/trained. Please be courteous and conscious of your pet(s) and their interactions at all times. You are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch or to take the Property Guided Tour while you are here. Although we do love them, we do not allow dogs on the Historical Silo Tour, so they will need to be in a vehicle, crated, or accompanied someone else during the tour.

Frequently asked questions about Great Bend dog parks

What amenities do private dog parks in Great Bend offer that public parks don't?

Great Bend private dog parks offer amenities you'll never find at public facilities: swimming pools for water-loving dogs, agility equipment for training, climate-controlled indoor spaces for year-round use, hiking trails on private property, and secure fencing customized for different dog sizes. Hosts provide poop bags, water stations, toys, and even dog wash stations. Atlas Ad Astra Dog Park & Paths is especially known for exceptional amenities. Every Great Bend listing shows exactly what's included—no surprises.

Are there fully fenced private dog parks in Great Bend?

Yes! Most of Great Bend's 4 Sniffspot locations are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed fencing specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, or reactive dogs who need contained space. Great Bend listings show fencing photos so you can verify security before booking.

How clean are private dog parks in Great Bend compared to public ones?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Great Bend are maintained by overworked city staff and often littered with waste from dozens of dogs daily. Sniffspot hosts in Great Bend maintain their own spaces and take pride in cleanliness since it directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Great Bend hosts provide fresh poop bags, empty trash regularly, and sanitize water stations. Plus, with only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal. Check reviews to see cleanliness ratings.

What types of dog parks can I find in Great Bend?

Great Bend has 4 diverse options: small dog parks for specific training activities, fully fenced dog parks for different environments, and dog hiking trails for varied experiences. Want a backyard for simple off-leash time? We've got it. Need acres of trails for hiking? Check. Looking for water access or agility obstacles? Available. Browse by park type to see what matches your dog's interests, then filter by location within Great Bend to find convenient options.

Can I book Great Bend dog parks on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Great Bend Sniffspot locations offer same-day or next-day availability, and most bookings can be made instantly without waiting for host approval. Unlike public dog parks that might be crowded during peak times, Great Bend private parks let you reserve exactly when you need them—early morning before work, midday breaks, or evening exercise. Check individual listings for real-time availability and booking policies.

Do Great Bend dog parks have water access?

Many do! Filter Great Bend's 4 locations by amenities to find dog parks with swimming pools, natural ponds, creeks, or beach access. Water features are perfect for Great Bend's hot summer days or for dogs who love to swim. Each listing specifies water type and depth, plus whether it's safe for swimming or just wading. Some Great Bend hosts provide life vests or shallow kiddie pools for water-nervous dogs.

Are there indoor dog parks in Great Bend?

Yes! Great Bend has climate-controlled indoor options perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Great Bend locations typically feature rubberized flooring (easier on joints), artificial turf, or padded surfaces. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs needing gentle surfaces, or reactive dogs benefiting from enclosed environments. Filter by "indoor" to see Great Bend's covered and climate-controlled options.

What's the best time to visit dog parks in Great Bend?

With Sniffspot, any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks that are crowded during peak hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't have to worry about timing in Great Bend. Book whenever fits your schedule—midday when public parks are empty, dawn for cool weather, or late evening for convenience. Many Great Bend locations have lighting for after-dark visits. The flexibility is one of the biggest advantages over public parks.
