Keen Acres Unfenced Trails

Unfenced
15 acres

UPDATE: Main trail packed, secondary trail has one pass but I got stuck on it and not attempting again for a bit.. bring snowshoes if you want to go anywhere off the main trail. Welcome! I try my hardest to give my visitors trail updates before they come so they know what to expect with the conditions of the trail. PLEASE keep in mind: I am one person, this is purely a small hobby for me and sometimes I don’t get a chance to pack the trails for a day or two after snowfalls. I chose to open up my yard and trails to others because it makes me happy that other people and their dogs get to enjoy them to. I have a full time job, a toddler with after work activities and I’m also an avid volunteer for search and rescue.. I will continue to try my hardest to keep people updated before they come, but please also come prepared for the snow, I don’t want people disappointed and I also don’t want to shut down the Sniffspot because of complaints.. IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD Come in yellow gate (before house), park by our barn and enjoy approx. 0.5kms worth of trail leading to a large open play area. You are welcome to go off trail if you enjoy snowshoeing.

Sugar Bush Acres Off-Leash Trails

Unfenced
45 acres

***IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in US dollars*** Base rate of $10 is for 2 adults and 1 puppy for one hour. Additional adults and puppies are $5 each. Children free. :) Add additional adults using the extra feature. In Northern Ontario, warm weather brings black flies and mosquitoes, so dress accordingly and consider using bug spray. In addition, the trails are through the bush so we also recommend wearing the property footwear and clothing. Like us on Facebook at Sugar Bush Acres for updates and latest trail conditions. Hello and welcome to our piece of paradise! Our property (45 acres) offers numerous walking trails and open spaces to romp and play. Your dog can enjoy an off-leash experience and a great opportunity to explore and be dogs! So many new smells they will be exhausted before you know it. Open field for you to play fetch or train. 100% totally private. No other dogs or humans during your time. We have approx. 3 km of nature trails that weave their way through our property. In summer and fall the trails are cleared of any debris, but are hiking trails and appropriate footwear is recommended. In winter, trails are packed and many are suitable for dog powered sports such as skijoring, kicksleding, dogsleding. etc. For those that are interested we have a kicksled, ESLA T6, that can be rented. Currently it's not equipped to hook up to dogs. For those who are involved in dog powered sports we're happy to support this community by offering designated times for individuals to gathering and train together. Send us a message to chat. Two spots have been cleared for entrance into the water and bench for you to sit on, check the map for locations. There's also a one acre field at the top of the property for training or playing catch, east of the north limit. Various wildlife has been spotted on the property which provides excellent sniff opportunities for your pet. Located in Northern Ontario, expect mosquitoes in spring, summer, and fall - dress accordingly and wear bug repellent if you so choose. If you have excellent recall your puppies can go off-leash. We ask that you wait until you are on the trails to release them. A recommend route is on the map and starts with heading north on the Orchard Trail, west on the North Limit, south on the Back 40, which then takes you down into the sugar bush. You can either cut cross west on Yoko's trail or continue on Maple's Way where there are several trails that branch off of it. Taking Mia's Loop will takes you east towards the road and loop back to the Sugar Bush Trail where you can cross over and head west to Chloe's loop or down to the river. Signs are posted at the beginning and end of each trail to help you navigate. Enjoy this time how you see fit and take nature in the best way possible. Please park to the righthand side of the barn. A map of the trails has been included in the pictures feel free to download or print. Copies are also available in the mail box by solar panels. Happy to get your feedback on the trails and your experience.

Frequently asked questions about Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails

What amenities do Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails typically include?

Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: woods, hiking trail and scenic views, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Greater Sudbury hosts customize their spaces. Browse 5 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

Can I find dog hiking trails in Greater Sudbury with water access?

Many Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails include water features! Filter by amenities to find swimming pools, natural ponds, or water play areas. Water is perfect for hot Greater Sudbury days, water-loving breeds, or low-impact exercise for seniors and disabled dogs. Each listing specifies water type, depth, and safety features. Some Greater Sudbury hosts provide life vests or shallow options for nervous swimmers.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Greater Sudbury compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Greater Sudbury see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Greater Sudbury hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Greater Sudbury private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Greater Sudbury?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Greater Sudbury that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Greater Sudbury where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Greater Sudbury hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Greater Sudbury dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Greater Sudbury dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Greater Sudbury special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
