David's 66 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Brevard

Unfenced
66 acres

My property has multiple trails, 2 small fields, streams, a large pond for swimming, and a dog wash station! Lots of space to play. Truly a dog paradise! My property is located on a long, gravel driveway (named by me as Maple Gap Rd) off Frozen Creek Road and just a short distance from the back entrance of Gorges State Park. Once turning onto Frozen Creek Road it’s about 1.3 miles on your right. You’ll see a small green sign saying Maple Gap Road and a Sniffspot sign. Parking is available beside the garage (looks like a house). Ok to park behind my silver truck that stays there. You’ll see a Sniffspot ‘park here’ sign, a dog waste station with bags, and a brown bench with tennis balls, water bowls, and bug spray in a storage bin under the seat. Access to the two small fields and stream is across the gravel driveway. My two homes on the property are vacation rentals by owner. If you see guests they may/may not have dogs. Make sure to introduce yourself as a Sniffspot customer. Also, please call or text owner to give advance notice, along with your names and dogs. Thank you! 678-640-0359

Frequently asked questions about Highlands dog hiking trails

Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Highlands?

Private dog hiking trails in Highlands eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Highlands's 6 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Highlands dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?

Highlands dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Highlands dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Highlands dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?

Highlands owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Highlands reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Highlands dog hiking trails?

Yes! Highlands dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Highlands dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Highlands dog hiking trails good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Highlands dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Highlands avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Highlands dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Highlands dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Highlands dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Highlands dog owners say about dog hiking trails?

Reviews of Highlands dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Riverside - 16 acre mix of fields/woods/trails on the French Broad River is particularly praised in Highlands. Read reviews to see real experiences from Highlands dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Highlands dog hiking trails?

Many Highlands hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Highlands dog hiking trail listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
