124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

We also are now offering Snifferdogz brand merch! Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!

Great communication from host and a great space with a mix of wooded trails and field. The hill to enter/exit is steep so wouldn’t be good for anyone with mobility issues. Left with a tired and happy pup!

Had fun and my dogs enjoyed it! Nice mix of open fields and trails. Follow the driving instructions in the app closely, A nice neighbor helped me figure out the way.

Beautiful area, lots of space for my dogs to run and play. Nice shaded walking areas to use to help my dogs cool down. The play area is down a hill, if taking supplies I would put them in a bag for the walk down, I also brought my own water and bowl, since you don’t have a hose bib near the play area

Great size for a great price! This was my first unfenced Sniff Spot so I was a little nervous for my pups but there was plenty of space! Large enough field area to run and play with a great wooded area of trails. Made it nice to practice off leash walking. Owner was very responsive to my questions.

What a lovely spot! The field was perfect for Frisbee/ball, and the short trail was maintained really well. Looking forward to coming back, thank you!

Gps took us straight there, but the detailed directions were much appreciated to make sure we were in the right place. A big open field to run around on with trails that opened up to amazing hillside views, what more could you ask for. Will definitely come back to this spot.

I absolutely loved this spot, and more importantly, so did my dogs! A huge meadow space to run in, plus some really nice trails that run through the trees. One of my dogs is a notorious escape artist/runaway, and the lack of fencing was not an issue at all. The space is so big, it’s pretty easy to stick to the middle. We will absolutely be back again, as this was perfect for my two rowdy boys.

We had a great time! My dog enjoyed playing fetch in the nice green field. The wooded part of the property has wide well maintained trails. The woods provide shade to get out of the sun on a hot day. Will visit again!

This is a great spot to take our 3 dogs, there's a big central field for them to run and also some trails through the woods. Theres a bit of hill to walk down to the field when you park but its not too bad.

This is such a beautiful spot and is large enough to provide my dog with a lot of room to roam. It is always so quiet and serene too. Even though there a couple neighbors bordering the property, I have rarely seen anyone outside over the two years I’ve been bringing my dog here. We really enjoy the wooded trails and the large, grassy flatland has lots of interesting sniffs too. Today we had an extra special treat - three deer were grazing at the top of the hill at the back of the property. My dog saw them and gave chase all the way up the hill. Needless to say he was very tired afterwards and no deer were harmed! Leslie is a really great, communicative host too.

The No fence thing is no big deal if your pups have good recall. Nice, well maintained trail, but as described, very steep grades. Property abuts a gravel pit, so be advised. Pups can slide down into a very deep pool of water. Also, no water on site. Otherwise, I love this place and will be back. Property is clean and well taken care of. Host was AMAZING about rescheduling. I got caught in bad traffic from Seattle. Had to move my visit up by an hour. She (I'm so sorry I'm terrible with names!) was kind, courteous and helpful. Made me feel welcome to come back for sure.

Absolutely perfect spot for your high-energy dogs (with at least decent recall)! My friend and I and our 2 herding mix dogs visited a few days ago for a 2 hour timeslot. Owner was communicative and friendly, explaining stuff that is commonly misunderstood before our visit. Arrive and go down a decent hill and let the dogs loose- they had a blast! I was a bit nervous scheduling 2 hours but the dogs made good use of all of it! Chasing eachother, running through the forest, following scent trails, Digging holes (in dirt, and we filled in afterwards!!!). By the end both dogs were exhausted, which any high-energy owner knows is necessary for a happy dog! We enjoyed walking around the area in circles to let the dogs see and smell everything. No need to bring a ball here, plenty for your dog to do, especially if they have a friend :) Owner answered a question we had within 10 minutes despite being at work at the time, and we appreciated that a lot! Just about a 30 minute drive from my place in Tacoma, this place is a must-go! Would 100000% come back as long as we're welcome :)

It was a little tricky to find but host was very responsive and answered questions quickly which was super helpful. Property boundaries were a little confusing to us (but it could have been us, lol). Dogs had lots of room to run and play! Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed tromping around the woods exploring, sniffing and playing. Plenty of room to play ball, work on recalls or play hide n seek. All sizes of dogs and humans will enjoy it. Tired dogs and happy humans.
