Forest Shore 10-Acre Private Dog Park in Jordan Ferry

Unfenced
10 acres

We welcome you to Nova Scotia's South Shore & Forest! We are situated on 15 acres with 800 feet of oceanfront on Jordan Bay. There are approximately 10 acres you may explore to your hearts' content! IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD Some of our forest is untouched, some has trails, and there is to access a mostly rocky shoreline. On low tide, our shore surprises us with some sand, as well. With more trees than you can shake a stick at, we also have running streams throughout the property headed to our shore, depending on the season. A couple run out to the shoreline as waterfalls. We are constantly working on clearing more trails for your ongoing enjoyment.

Frequently asked questions about South Ohio dog hiking trails

What amenities do South Ohio dog hiking trails typically include?

South Ohio dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: woods, hiking trail and scenic views, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, South Ohio hosts customize their spaces. Browse 3 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

Can I find dog hiking trails in South Ohio with water access?

Many South Ohio dog hiking trails include water features! Filter by amenities to find swimming pools, natural ponds, or water play areas. Water is perfect for hot South Ohio days, water-loving breeds, or low-impact exercise for seniors and disabled dogs. Each listing specifies water type, depth, and safety features. Some South Ohio hosts provide life vests or shallow options for nervous swimmers.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in South Ohio compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in South Ohio see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many South Ohio hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book South Ohio dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many South Ohio dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, South Ohio private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in South Ohio?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in South Ohio that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many South Ohio dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do South Ohio dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most South Ohio dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in South Ohio where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use South Ohio dog hiking trails for special events?

Many South Ohio dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with South Ohio hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual South Ohio dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do South Ohio dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

South Ohio dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other South Ohio special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
