Welcome to Ruka’s House! We have big plans for this area. For now, it’s just a lovely open field. We hope you have the best time with your pups. Be mindful of the equipment on the property. You are welcome to sit on the swing chair and use the entire space. 6 laps around the field is 1 mile so you can get your steps in! Feedback is encouraged on what you’d like to see here. The goal is to make this a super fun space for your pups.

Silent H Acres In Morganton

Silent H Acres is almost an acre fenced spot for your dog to go sniffing, running, fetching, and discovering. There are toys to play with (frisbees, tug rope, tennis balls, etc) and sticks to fetch. The grass ranges from 2” mowed, to 4” natural, up to about 12+ inches. A smattering of trees and two sitting areas for you - the gray Adirondack chairs are a bit too heavy to move, but feel free to move the red ones anywhere you would like. ***We will be adding a couple of agility exercise areas for your dog in the next few days. Toward the front of the field, I have mowed a curvy type of track in case you want to work on guided leash training. For you, we will keep a track around the perimeter of the fence mowed so you can use it for a walking track. PLEASE NOTE, the electric fence is DISCONNECTED. Hidden River Private Dog Park in Swannanoa, NC

We are back in action after the flood and the Swannanoa Valley where we are located is as beautiful as ever. I'm happy for our four legged friends to enjoy again our large, flat grassy fenced in area for unleashed dogs on a 20 acre farm and wedding venue (Hidden River Events) next to the Swannanoa River. Parking is just outside the fence on the grass. There is a large deck with seating for relaxing while your pup(s) play. If it has rained within 24-48 hours of your visit, the spot may be muddy (even though it is a grass pasture) so it is good to bring towels for your pup. The fenced area has no trees so, there is an umbrella provided. If you use it, make sure to close it before you depart. This is a large farm and the distance from the sniff spot to the river is a good ways. You are welcome to walk your dog on a leash to the river if you don't see any other dogs on the property or an event going on. In 2025, we are not having many, if any, weddings, so you should be good to enjoy the river. If you have questions about where to walk to go to the river or if it's ok to enjoy more than the sniffspot itself, please text me at 828-458-5740. Horses and goats reside in their own fully contained pastures on the property away from the Sniff Spot. There is a water bucket on site to refill a water bowl if the bowl is empty when you arrive. Feel free to leash your dog and take him/her down to the river to play while you are on your visit.

West Hickory Park

West Hickory Park is a dog-friendly park located at 830 16th St in Hickory, North Carolina. The park offers a spacious field for dogs to run and play. It is open from 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week. This is a beautiful historic property with a 200 year-old brick plantation house surrounded by the woods with lots of gardens and long areas for dogs to run and explore. Reservations are required as I have free, ranging ducks and geese that need to be tucked away when visitor dogs are here.

**The pool is open for the season!** Welcome! We have a fun property your dogs will love! We have a 2 acre property, which includes approximately a half acre fenced area, a 1 acre unfenced area, and a separately fenced inground pool area. Only dogs are allowed in the swimming pool (unless you're actively helping or playing with them). Two creeks outline our property and dogs are welcome anywhere on the property. We tend to keep the grass in the back of the property a bit longer to support the bees, but it also makes for lots more sniffing for the pups! If you're using the unfenced portion of the yard, dogs must be on leash. We have dogs of our own, but we will keep them secure in the house when you're using the property so you'll have the whole yard and pool to yourself. The Canine Traveler

This Sniffspot is a fully fenced property (our home is inside the fence) with hills, bumpy terrain, sticks galore, piles of limbs, well dug holes by our lovely golden and pyrenees, and tons of open space. Please watch your step. When entering, you can park in the carport, gravel driveway, or even in the grass. You can use the grass to turn around in as well. You will close the gate right at the road during your entire stay. You can leave the gate open as you leave for our next visitor. We will not be visible during your visit and you will be the only occupants at your scheduled time. Trash & Amenities: The trash can and other amenities are inside the carport and at the picnic table in the back near the bamboo forest. Dog Library: We have a new dog library near the bamboo that we will stock with toys, sticks, bags, and goodies. Seating: We have a table and four chairs in the bamboo/shaded area in the very back if you would like to have a picnic off the ground. In addition, we have a bench inside the carport. There are two fold up chairs in the carport if you would like to use them anywhere on the property. Fences: Our Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever have never escaped or tried to jump it and that is a win for a Pyrenees! We have wire and split rail fencing with wire. Wildlife: You may see turtles, snakes, rabbits, deer, ground hogs and squirrels. Grounds: The property around the home has never been graded so it is hilly and lumpy so be careful where you step. You can see holes dug in the yard from dogs. It is fine if they dig. We also had pipes going to a garden years ago so if you see them, don't worry! They are half buried and half exposed. Water: You have access to our well and water bowls. We also have a kiddie pool if you would like to use it. Wifi: We have wifi and outdoor outlets in the carport.

The trails are moderate until you come to the areas that we had landslides, at which point, you can turn around or enjoy the difficulty it presents. Sometimes I or other guests may be on property. The Dog Park at George Poston Park in Gastonia, North Carolina is a fully-fenced enclosure that opens at 7 am daily and closes at sunset. The park has strict rules in place, including leashing dogs until safely inside and outside the park, supervising children, and no smoking or eating in the park. Separate areas are provided for Small and Large Dogs. Dog owners are responsible for their pets' behavior, waste disposal, and stopping them from digging. The park prohibits aggressive dogs, puppies under 4 months old, and more than three dogs per person. Professional dog trainers must have prior approval to conduct business at the park. Owners are fully liable for any damages or injuries caused by their dogs. In case of any violations, visitors can contact Gaston County Parks and Recreation. Multiple large, grassy, fully fenced dog pastures; 4.5' high fencing. Fully fenced obedience training ring with gates, broadjumps, highjumps, and bar jump. Trails to lazy creek and around perimeter of property. Kennels, cover, chairs and fans available for use in pole barn. If you enjoy walking with your doggo(s) outside of fenced areas- there is a good bit to explore on our property. We hope you come and enjoy!

Whitewater Off Leash is a fully-fenced dog park located at 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dogs must remain on-leash until inside the off-leash area, and owners must keep their dog under voice control. Dogs must be up to date on vaccines, at least 4 months old, and must have a collar with identifying tag. Owners are responsible for picking up their dog's waste, and there is a limit of three dogs per person. The park offers amenities such as dog drinking water, a washing area, fields, lakes, and a beach. No lifeguards are on duty, and humans are not allowed in the lakes or ponds. Welcome to "Koda's Field Fun" (10+ acres)

Hi there! Our dog, "Koda," enjoys running through our fields and chasing rabbits and deer. I came across Sniffspot by accident and thought what a great idea so others can enjoy our area. I also have two children in college, so an extra revenue stream is nice, too! Basically, you will have access to our yard and the two fields we own. It is unfenced but a very safe area off the main road. Your pup will enjoy running through the fields and chasing wildlife. Koda and i walk it several times a day - it's great to run or walk while getting those steps in! The walking path around the fields is mowed weekly, and the property is indicated by markers. There are woods on one side that your pup will love to explore. Some of the woods are more open for you and your best friend to explore together. There's a remnent of a pond through the woods in one spot that still gets some water sometimes. It's more of a big watering hole or mudhole. So there is a chance your pup might get wet if they explore that area and there'sbeen recent rain. You will almost always see deer while walking the path, especially in the mornings! If you visit during the right months, there are plenty of blackberries outlining the walking path. You're welcome to pick what you want. The fields are planted right now so Koda enjoys running and jumping through the grain (see if you can find the white tail deer in one of my photos!) but at times the fields will be cut shorter. I will always put Koda inside so you can have privacy; however, if you ever want a doggie play date, I'm sure she'd be up to it! As I am a new host, I am still working on creating signs and coming up with more creative ideas so that we can become your favorite Sniffspot! I don't know how popular our spot will be since there is no fencing, but if it is, I am excited to make it bigger and better! I work remotely, so I will put out fresh water for you and your pets to enjoy before your reservation begins.
