I'm a dedicated professional dog trainer with more than 10 years of specialized experience training service dogs, along with extensive experience helping dogs and their families build stronger, healthier relationships. My approach combines positive reinforcement with a balanced training philosophy, recognizing that every dog is an individual and deserves a training program tailored to their temperament, needs, and lifestyle. I believe exceptional dog training goes far beyond teaching commands-it begins with creating trust, communication, confidence, and a genuine bond between dog and owner.
My expertise includes puppy training and socialization, obedience and foundational manners, potty training, leash skills, behavior modification, and working with anxious, fearful, reactive, and aggressive dogs. I also provide specialized service dog training, private in-home lessons, Board & Train programs, and structured Doggy Daycare Training, as well as group training opportunities. Whether I'm helping a new puppy develop a confident foundation, guiding a family through challenging behavior, or preparing a dog for the responsibilities of service work, my goal is always the same: to create a well-mannered, confident, balanced dog and an owner who feels knowledgeable, empowered, and connected to their companion. I bring patience, professionalism, and a genuine passion for dogs to every training relationship, with the belief that the best-trained dogs are those who are not only obedient, but truly understand and trust the people guiding them.

Dog training methods:

My dog training philosophy is rooted in the belief that exceptional training begins with an exceptional relationship between you and your dog. With more than 10 years of specialized experience training Service Dogs, I bring a refined, knowledgeable, and individualized approach to every dog and every family I serve. I specialize in Service Dog Training, puppy training and early socialization, potty training, obedience, and behavior modification for anxious, fearful, reactive, and aggressive dogs. Puppy training goes far beyond teaching commands-it is about thoughtfully shaping confident, well-mannered dogs through proper socialization, exposure to new environments, people, sounds, surfaces, and experiences, while establishing communication and trust from the very beginning. My training approach is designed to create dogs who are not only obedient and responsive, but confident, emotionally balanced, and capable of navigating the world with their owners. I offer a collection of personalized training experiences, including private in-home lessons, luxury Board & Train programs, Doggy Day Care Training, and structured group classes, allowing each program to be tailored to the individual dog and the lifestyle of the owner. Private in-home training provides one-on-one guidance within your dog's everyday environment, while Board & Train offers an immersive and highly structured training experience. Doggy Day Care Training combines attentive care, enrichment, socialization, and purposeful training throughout the day, while group classes provide an opportunity to strengthen obedience, focus, confidence, and appropriate social skills around distractions. Whether I am helping a new puppy develop a beautiful foundation, guiding a family through challenging behavior, or preparing a dog for service work, my focus remains the same: creating a confident, well-mannered dog and an extraordinary partnership between dog and owner. Because true luxury in dog training isn't simply having a dog who follows commands-it is having a dog who understands you, trusts you, enjoys working with you, and is genuinely connected to you.

Why I became a dog trainer:

My love for dogs started long before I ever imagined becoming a professional dog trainer. As an only child, dogs were always my best friends, my constant companions, and, quite honestly, probably my favorite people! My father worked in law enforcement, and I loved going to watch the police dogs train. I was fascinated by their intelligence, energy, and incredible ability to work alongside their handlers. One of my favorite childhood memories happened when I was just five years old. Someone invited me down onto the floor to help train one of the police dogs. Now, I'm sure I was about as qualified to train a police dog as a five-year-old could possibly be, but they made me feel like I was doing an amazing job! I was absolutely convinced I was a natural, and looking back, perhaps they knew something I didn't yet know about myself. Little did I realize that those early experiences were the beginning of a lifelong passion. Dogs have always been a part of my world, and what began as a little girl's love for her four-legged friends eventually grew into my life's work. Since 1999, I've owned and operated my own dog training business and boarding facility, turning that childhood fascination into a career built on experience, dedication, and an unwavering love for helping dogs and their people. I guess you could say I started my career at five years old-my first client just happened to be a police dog!

My favorite part of being a dog trainer:

Helping dogs and their people is more than a career to me-it is my passion and something that has been a part of my entire life. I have always had dogs by my side, and over the years, they have taught me just as much as I have taught them. What I love most about training is watching a dog transform as they begin to understand what is being asked of them and, just as importantly, watching an owner gain confidence in understanding their dog. Every dog communicates in its own way, and there is always a reason behind a behavior. Whether it is excitement, fear, frustration, insecurity, or another trigger, I want owners to learn how to recognize what their dog is communicating rather than simply correcting the behavior. For me, the most important part of dog training is actually training the owner. I want to teach you how your dog thinks, why they behave the way they do, how to identify their triggers, and how to communicate with them clearly and fairly. When an owner understands their dog, everything changes-the training becomes easier, the relationship becomes stronger, and the dog feels more secure and confident. My ultimate goal is not simply to create a well-trained dog; it is to help create a lifelong partnership where you and your dog genuinely understand one another, trust each other, and enjoy being together. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing that connection grow and knowing that the training we have done together will continue to benefit both of you for years to come.

My #1 dog training tip:

training in the morning is the best time to train. If you are using positive reinforcement, i.e. high value traits. The dog is more hungry in the morning and will respond better to the training.
