When my family decided that we wanted to add a furry family member we adopted Jasper. We discovered that Jasper was fearful as well as people and dog selective. We realized we needed help, so we found a local positive reinforcement trainer and worked together with our dog to become a trusting team. Because of my desire to learn about dogs in order to help more dogs, I began to volunteer at a local shelter in 2013. During my volunteer time I met Rickon, a long-term resident. He was, and still is, fearful of new people but likes most dogs. With the help of his friends from the shelter, after a year of meet and greets we were able to adopt him as a member of our family.Because of how much I learned from the people I have met through volunteering and from my trainer colleagues I decided to focus on earning my Professional Dog Trainer Certification (CPDT-KA), my Canine Enrichment Technician Certification (DN-CET), and my Separation Anxiety Professional Behavior Consultant Certification (CSAP-BC). If you read this far, you may have come to realize that the J and R of my business name refers to Jasper and Rickon, my Companions. Jasper passed away in 2019 but remains my inspiration. Rick is my training partner and has taught me more than I can ever thank him for.Certifications, Memberships, and Continuing Education Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA)Certified Canine Enrichment Technician (DN-CET) I am the first person to have earned this certification.Certified Separation Anxiety Professional Behavior Consultant (CSAP-BC)CATCH Mentor Trainer First Aid and Dog CPRI am dedicated to continuing my education to help both the human and canine members of the learning team.
