Wooded trails ~ 10 minutes from downtown AVL

Unfenced
5 acres

Whistlepig Trails offers 5 acres of wooded, hand-maintained trails designed for dogs and their humans to explore. The paths wind through a natural hillside, with gentle slopes, packed earth, and plenty of interesting scents along the way. Maintained with care, these trails provide a safe and engaging space for dogs to roam, sniff, and stretch their legs. Located within a small, artsy campground, the space has a rustic, creative feel, with upcycled structures and a relaxed atmosphere. Sniff Spot visitors are welcome to use the restroom facilities during their visit. For leash-less exploring, that's dog-dependent. There are cats near the big open field, and if your pup likes to chase cats, then we'd ask that you kept your dog on a leash for the safety of our not-terribly-athletic cat. :) On the trails should be fine, but please make sure they're leashed in the parking area. Please note that it is possible that the neighbors dogs could make an appearance. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. :( There's a good chance you'll see other people around the property while you're here. We run a campground for visitors to Asheville and also have folks who live on the property.

Jessica's 9.5 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Black Mountain

Unfenced
9.5 acres

https://youtu.be/XMlu-_mwiD0?feature=shared Welcome to cloud 9! Our sweet little slice of paradise. Click the YouTube link to see a video tour of the property as it was operating prior to the hurricane. Most everything still looks the same... We've removed a couple of tiny houses but otherwise it is as as depicted in the video. With slight changes based on season. We have 9.5 acres of pristine mountain glory We have a large unfenced Field, Shallow Creek with some small waterfalls, a spring that feeds a tiny pond, a large cleared Homesite that's away from the road moderate to difficult trails and beautiful views. The trails are moderate until you come to the areas that we had landslides, at which point, you can turn around or enjoy the difficulty it presents. Sometimes I or other guests may be on property. If you don't want any other dogs present while you're here, please confirm by text ahead of your reservation time. Thanks so much! We look forward to sharing our sweet space with you. We do not have any trash service. Please do not leave any trash of any version on property including plastic wrapped poop... you'd think that would go without saying...but experience shows it must be said.🙄 All of your activities while on property are at your own risk. Owners, heirs, and other affiliated parties are not responsible for anything that happens to you or your pet.

Frequently asked questions about Bakersville dog hiking trails

What types of dog hiking trails are available in Bakersville?

Bakersville has 12 dog hiking trails with diverse features: woods, hiking trail and scenic views. Whether you need a fully-fenced space for poor recall, a quiet location for a reactive dog, appropriate sizing for small breeds, gentle terrain for seniors, or specific amenities like water features or agility equipment, you'll find options in Bakersville. Filter by fencing, size, distractions, and amenities to match your needs.

When can I book dog hiking trails in Bakersville?

Bakersville dog hiking trails are available based on host scheduling—many operate dawn to dusk or even 24/7. Unlike public dog parks with rigid hours, you choose the exact time that works for you. Check individual Bakersville listings for specific availability. Flexible scheduling is especially helpful for dogs with specific needs: reactive dogs who do better during quieter times, working dog owners needing early/late slots, or seniors needing cooler morning hours.

How do I book a dog hiking trail in Bakersville?

Browse 12 available dog hiking trails in Bakersville, select your preferred date and time, and reserve through Sniffspot. Most Bakersville locations offer instant booking. You'll receive confirmation, exact address, and entry instructions. The booking process takes just minutes—perfect when your dog needs exercise, whether that's a reactive dog requiring safe space, a puppy needing socialization, or an energetic dog burning off steam.

What's the most popular dog hiking trail in Bakersville?

Carl's 52 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Kingsport is highly rated among Bakersville dog hiking trails, known for excellent amenities and positive reviews. However, the "best" spot depends on your dog's needs—reactive dogs might prioritize privacy and quiet, puppies might need secure fencing, seniors might want flat terrain, while active dogs might want maximum running space. Browse Bakersville listings to find your ideal match.

Can I use Bakersville dog hiking trails for training sessions?

Yes! Bakersville dog hiking trails are perfect for training because they're private and distraction-free. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, help reactive dogs build confidence, socialize puppies, or work on obedience—all without public dog park unpredictability. Many Bakersville professional trainers use these spaces for client sessions with all types of dogs.

Do Bakersville dog hiking trails accommodate multiple dogs?

Most Bakersville dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings for specifics). If you have several dogs—especially if some are reactive toward strange dogs or if you have mixed ages (puppies and seniors)—private dog hiking trails let them play together safely without outside interference or triggers.

What amenities do Bakersville dog hiking trails offer?

Bakersville dog hiking trails feature amenities like woods, hiking trail and scenic views. Many hosts provide extras: poop bags, water stations, toys, shaded seating, parking, even dog wash stations. Each Bakersville listing clearly shows what's available. Look for amenities matching your dog's needs: shade for heat-sensitive breeds, water for swimmers, agility for active dogs, or privacy features for anxious pets.

Are Bakersville dog hiking trails available year-round?

Many Bakersville hosts maintain their dog hiking trails throughout all seasons. Filter for covered or climate-controlled options if weather matters. Indoor dog hiking trails provide year-round access regardless of Bakersville weather conditions. Check individual listings for seasonal availability and policies.
