Sally's 30 Acre Partially Fenced Private Dog Park In Mount Airy

Partially Fenced
30 acres

The perimeter of my property is fenced so you know you’re still on my property. However, it is triple strand so dogs could go through it. We do have chickens and ducks that free roam. We also have other animals that will be contained in the barnyard behind the barn. Drive straight down driveway towards RV. There will be a gate straightahead and another gate to the left. Park anywhere there and use either gate. The gate to the left leads to that big field and the creek runs the length of it. The other gate leads to the back and crosses over the creek. Walk up there just a bit and you will see a path to the left. It goes up to another open field.

Open field for your dog to run. NOTE: CELL SERVICE is unreliable, texting a bit better. GPS is unreliable as well. Before your first visit, you should get an auto-message 2 hours before your reservation with turn by turn directions. Now on to the good info. The primary area is about 1 1/2 acres. I use it for dog sports such as Toss and Fetch (disc). It is ideal for throwing a ball, a disc, or just letting your dog run. There is a shed in this area that has chairs, toys, etc. for guests. There is an agility field, available by special permission only, for those with prior agility experience. See extras.

Frequently asked questions about Bassett dog fields

Why are private dog fields better than public dog parks in Bassett?

Private dog fields in Bassett eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Bassett's 50 private dog fields offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Bassett dog fields compared to public dog parks?

Bassett dog fields are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Bassett dog fields eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Bassett dog fields safe for reactive dogs?

Bassett owners of reactive dogs choose dog fields because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy full-speed running and fetch while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Bassett reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Bassett dog fields?

Yes! Bassett dog fields provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a large, open grass area where dogs can run at full speed and play fetch at their own pace without stress. Many Bassett dog fields offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Bassett dog fields good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Bassett dog fields because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Bassett avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog fields eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Bassett dog fields work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Bassett dog fields because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Bassett dog fields with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Bassett dog owners say about dog fields?

Reviews of Bassett dog fields consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Bushel Barks Private Dog Park is particularly praised in Bassett. Read reviews to see real experiences from Bassett dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Bassett dog fields?

Bassett hosts maintain their own dog fields and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Bassett hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Bassett dog field listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
