Welcome to Beaverton's Dog Trails! Please access the trails from Concession 6. Punch these coordinates into Google Maps: 44.4415942, -79.1065234. There is a SniffSpot Sign at the entrance. You may park in the private driveway. At times the river will be high, and you may only be able to cross the river on the white trail as there is a bridge. Please be advised that you are in bear territory. Carry the bear spray provided if it makes you more comfortable. Please pick up after your dog, there is a waste bin at the entrance. Please help yourself to a laminated map at the entrance and return after your walk. The map is posted throughout the trails with "you are here" symbols to help you navigate the trails. There is also bug spray in the cabinet at the trail entrance. If trails are blocked off with caution tape, they are temporarily closed. Enjoy your visit! If you are OK with this possibility of seeing two gardeners off of the main walking path, feel free to book whenever. Path around the pond and into the back of the property where there is woods. The back of the property is less maintained and it is only recommended to go back there if you wish to explore and are sure to be safe with your dog on leash, just because the previous owners of the property left some car debris back there that may be harmful to dogs if they are not careful. We take our three Chihuahuas here all the time with no issues. We’ve taken them to the back as well, but usually just stay to the maintained area around the pond. People have heard coyotes and seen coyote trails on the property so if you have a small dog, it is recommended to be on leash just in case. Pond is great for dogs to swim, relatively clean water that our dogs and ourselves swim in. Pond also has an island in the middle, which makes for a cool place for dogs to swim to. Be sure to wash dogs after as there is poison ivy or oak on the island that could stick on dogs fur. Tree farm is not our property please stay off!

We keep the trailed groomed almost daily in the winter to make walking easier. PARKING: please park in the round about and go around the left side of the house to the trail. Winter parking: Please park your vehicle on the corner of the paved driveway LEASHES: Please leash your dogs until you are on the trail and when returning to the parking lot if they don’t have reliable recall. DOG POOP: Please use a stick to flick your dog’s poop out of sight and off the trail or put in a doggy bag. There is a compost bin you are welcome to throw your compostable doggy bags in there. RESPECT NATURE: No smoking or littering. Please keep our Sniffspot beautiful and safe from potential fire. The entrance to the trail is at the back left of the property. There is a water bucket for the dogs at the left side of the house near the tap. You are welcome to refill if needed. I hope you enjoy! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHECK YOURSELF AND YOUR PUPS BEFORE YOU LEAVE. THEY’RE DISGUSTING AND CAN BE HAZARDOUS My place is nearly 200+ acres and can be tricky to find. It’s the 1st house on your left east of the 400 or 1st house on your right west of Jane. When u turn in the drive way follow it to the left and then slight right, you’ll see the house. U can park beside the barn and have an awesome walk, sniff all the things. Bring rain boots or shoes u don’t love lol It can get mucky on the trails at times. Also, there may be farmers out there so if your dog is reactive, maybe come on a weekend. I use the term “trails” loosely as yes, there are trails but there’s also a lot of forested areas. Feel free to venture in there but bring the “EAU DE BUG SPRAY”. The skeeters are nasty out here. I also LOVE seeing the pics of the pups having a roll in the dirt or just living their best life. Bring on the photoshoot!

PLEASE FLICK FAR or PICK UP YOUR DOG'S EXCREMENT while roaming on the groomed trails. There is a green bin to drop it in on your way off the property. No one likes "stepping in it." The trails aren't fenced in, but they extend behind and/or beside the house and are situated away from the road.

About 65 acres is walkable and we have trails throughout. We are learning as we go, and hope to provide you and your dogs a fun day. If you have any question feel free to ask. And remember, we love dogs just as much as you do. There are a few important points we'd like you to consider. We like to meet our new guests for the first time. This gives us a chance to get to know you better and also put friendly faces to us, the hosts. We want you to feel welcome and know that we care about your dogs. We have several trails that split out to other trails. There will be signs to help you navigate through them, and some suggestions that will help you keep track of remaining time. In the colder months, running water will not be provided. We will also reserve the right to cancel the appointment if we get heavy snow squalls. Our plan is to keep the trails plowed, but in the event of a snow storm, it may take us a few days to get the trails plowed. In general, we will not be open past dusk, unless you specifically ask us and are aware of the risks of walking in the dark. I always walk my dogs on winter nights. Just carry some sort of flashlight. We currently have an electric gate that can only be opened by us at the gate, and not remotely. When a guest arrives, we will be there to open the gate for you, close it once you're in, and open it again upon your departure. Lastly a note about safety. Safety is important to us, but please note that you are entering nature. Our spot is home to many small animals, including porcupines. If your dogs are into porcupines, I would stay cautious of your pets entering the dense bush and recommend they stick to the trails instead. The probability of spotting a porcupine though is very low. Other animals will simply not bother human visitors and their dog companions. You may spot a deer or two if you're lucky that day. Deer are mostly friendly, but I would suggest keeping your distance if you spot a buck. However, they typically flee when they spot you. In all my years spotting buck, I've never seen one charge at anyone. Still, be safe. Although very rare, you many spot a coyote. Once again, they generally don't bother humans. If you spot one, keep your dogs close. Coyotes don't like confrontations with humans, so your dogs will be safe if by your side.
