55So much fun for our dogs& toddler! The winding trails were great and our toddler liked looking at all the dragonflies& butterflies in the wild flowers. Dog wash was easy to find& use after the swimming sesh. The horses were out, so, we took kiddo over to say hi while we let the dogs dry a bit
Hope to return soon!Patty P.

55Beautiful spot. Very well maintained area with a friendly host. Plenty of space for dogs to run and explore. Chairs to sit and relax while pup plays in the water. There’s even a hose near the parking spot to rinse off. Sarah B.

55This spot is perfect for my reactive boy, the pond and field make the perfect barriers. He loved getting to swim and run around the fun trails that they have cut down! It was like a maze for him to come find us! Love finding spots like this to avoid the stress of walking a reactive dog around parks and other pets! Thanks Ginny for your help and letting us use your beautiful property 😊Karissa R.

Great place, my dog ran for a half hour. She waded in the pond chased birds in the field, and just ran around. After a half hour she was worn out and fell asleep on the way home. Best features were the open corn fields and the pond.Robin L.

55Very pretty truly country farm spot. My baby loved running and playing in the banks of the pond. It was almost level at that point so he just got his knees wet and muddy. We did put a life jacket on him, although a couple were provided just in case. Lots of pretty flower paths, butterflies, and corn fields. We did not find drinking water or a hose. But that was the only downside! Adia X.

55Unfortunately my dogs were not prepared for the bigger dogs (horses) but that is on my part not the owners. But it was definitely nice and secluded. Shane G.

55Cute little spot and easy to find! The horses were so pretty! Dogs absolutely loved swimming in the pond. It was pretty mossy, but there was a hose to rinse them off before getting into the car. The host had left some bowls, water, and toys down at a picnic table. Dogs absolutely had a blast! Phylicia B.

55Have a busy weekend ahead and rain forecasted tomorrow, so booked this Sniffspot hoping that I could help my pups burn some energy in advance of that. And it boy did it deliver! This place was perfect for my doggos to burn off some steam. I expected my Golden to get in and enjoy the pond, but not my Bernese. However, she hopped in within the first 5mins of us getting there and kept getting in and out the whole hour! It was so cool. They ran and played on the trails or swam the whole time. We’ll definitely be back. DeLaney S.

55We had an incredible time. Our 2 year old golden has hip dysplasia and her vet highly recommends swimming as a form of exercise. We found the hills property to be a perfect place for our girl to exercise and play in the water. The hosts had awesome amenities including a hose to wash our girl off with before our car ride home as well as a towel. We will definitely be back! Alyssa S.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Clayton compared to public parks?
Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Clayton see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Clayton hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.
Can I book Clayton dog hiking trails on short notice?
Usually yes! Many Clayton dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Clayton private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.
What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Clayton?
Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Clayton that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Clayton dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.
Do Clayton dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?
Yes! Most Clayton dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Clayton where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.
Can I use Clayton dog hiking trails for special events?
Many Clayton dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Clayton hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Clayton dog hiking trail listings for event policies.
How do Clayton dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?
Clayton dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Clayton special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
