Charlie's Hideaway fully fenced 9 acres in Black Forest

Fully Fenced
9 acres

We will be temporarily closed for the month of August for repairs and maintenance - September reservations can be made starting 8/1. See you in September! Welcome to Charlie’s Hideaway - your dog's new favorite adventure spot! 🐾🐾 This 9-acre, fully fenced native pasture (with 4’ wire square fencing) is made for sniffing, zoomies and exploring. Rolling hills, patches of short and tall grass & a sandy area give your pup plenty of variety to roam and investigate. This private space is also a great fit for reactive dogs or those who need a calm, low-traffic environment. Street parking is available near the entrance and a two-gate entry system provides an added layer of security - allowing you to enter at your own pace and help your dog transition calmly into the space. As you come through the gate, you'll find a covered canopy and welcome station with fresh water, clean bowls, poop bags, toys and towels - everything you need for a comfortable visit. Chairs are available so you can sit back, relax and soak in those gorgeous Pike Peak views while your dog does their thing. Wildlife sightings are part of the charm - you may see hawks overhead, rabbits in the grass and occasionally deer passing by. Two resident barn cats also live on the property, but they're very shy and rarely seen. Please help keep Charlie's Hideaway clean and enjoyable for everyone by picking up after your dog (poop bags are provided and a trash can is located at the gate). Please review the Sniffspot visitor guidelines before your visit and then come ready to enjoy a peaceful, private outing with your pup!

The Oregon Trail (Dog trail by Sedalia, CO)

Unfenced
30 acres

**ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING (OF ANY KIND) ON PROPERTY DUE TO FIRE RISK.** Private Mountain Forest Dog Adventure – Creek, Trails & Total Privacy. Let your dog explore 30 acres of private Colorado mountain forest with fresh air, tall pines, and peaceful trails. A groomed trail leads about ½ mile through Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine down to a quiet open creek area where dogs can run, explore, and cool off in the water.  -Can be muddy pending season (bring towel in case) The forest canopy keeps much of the trail shaded, and the creek area is often cooler on warm summer days, making it a great escape from the heat. This spot is perfect for dogs that love space, freedom, and the smells of the forest. Many guests come back regularly because their dogs can relax, roam, and explore without crowds. Wildlife are sometimes seen in the area, which adds to the peaceful mountain experience. Frank's Place - 5 Acres of Play Space

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to our private, fully fenced 5-acre Sniffspot on Frank Road, designed for safe off-leash play and relaxed exploring. This is a quiet, secure space where dogs can run freely, sniff to their hearts’ content, and enjoy real outdoor enrichment without the stress of public dog parks. Many guests find it ideal for reactive dogs, shy dogs, high-energy dogs, or dogs that simply love having room to roam. The property includes a mix of open running areas and natural tree-lined spaces, giving dogs variety while owners enjoy mountain views, peaceful surroundings, and benches for resting. The entire area is fully fenced so you can relax while your dog explores. You’ll find poop bags and a trash bucket provided, and there is plenty of space to wander at your own pace. My own dogs are small dachshunds, so I pay attention to secure fencing and safe access for small dogs as well as large dogs. If this is your first visit, take a moment to browse the photos to see the layout and features, and read the reviews to hear what other visitors and their dogs enjoy most. When you're ready, choose a time and book a visit — we’d love to host you.

Ruff 'n Rugged Acres

Partially Fenced
40 acres

Ruff 'n Rugged Acres is perfect for high drive, high energy dogs. We are an easy 20 minute drive from Woodmen Rd & Marksheffel Rd on the east side of Colorado Springs. This is a great location to work on your off leash training or your dog can burn off some of that pent up energy. It has a neatly mowed area of approximately 2 acres, mowed, well marked trails totaling about 1 mile, with the remainder of the area in native grasses and vegetation. On any visit you may see cottontail rabbits, jack rabbits, pronghorn antelope and other wildlife native to this area. The parking area is a good distance from the entrance so you can unload and load your dogs safely without having to worry about traffic. We have a great view of Pikes Peak, well away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Quiet, peaceful & relaxing. You will enjoy your visit just as much as your dogs. We also have a full fenced area of approximately 2200sq ft. for dogs under 40 lbs. Frequently asked questions about Cripple Creek dog hiking trails

What types of dog hiking trails are available in Cripple Creek?

Cripple Creek has 8 dog hiking trails offers wooded trails, open meadows, and varied natural terrain. Whether you need a fully-fenced space for poor recall, a quiet location for a reactive dog, appropriate sizing for small breeds, gentle terrain for seniors, or specific amenities like water features or agility equipment, you'll find options in Cripple Creek. Filter by fencing, size, distractions, and amenities to match your needs.

When can I book dog hiking trails in Cripple Creek?

Cripple Creek dog hiking trails are available based on host scheduling—many operate dawn to dusk or even 24/7. Unlike public dog parks with rigid hours, you choose the exact time that works for you. Check individual Cripple Creek listings for specific availability. Flexible scheduling is especially helpful for dogs with specific needs: reactive dogs who do better during quieter times, working dog owners needing early/late slots, or seniors needing cooler morning hours.

How do I book a dog hiking trail in Cripple Creek?

Browse 8 available dog hiking trails in Cripple Creek, select your preferred date and time, and reserve through Sniffspot. Most Cripple Creek locations offer instant booking. You'll receive confirmation, exact address, and entry instructions. The booking process takes just minutes—perfect when your dog needs exercise, whether that's a reactive dog requiring safe space, a puppy needing socialization, or an energetic dog burning off steam.

What's the most popular dog hiking trail in Cripple Creek?

Frank's Place - 5 Acres of Play Space is highly rated among Cripple Creek dog hiking trails, known for excellent amenities and positive reviews. However, the "best" spot depends on your dog's needs—reactive dogs might prioritize privacy and quiet, puppies might need secure fencing, seniors might want flat terrain, while active dogs might want maximum running space. Browse Cripple Creek listings to find your ideal match.

Can I use Cripple Creek dog hiking trails for training sessions?

Yes! Cripple Creek dog hiking trails are perfect for training because they're private and distraction-free. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, help reactive dogs build confidence, socialize puppies, or work on obedience—all without public dog park unpredictability. Many Cripple Creek professional trainers use these spaces for client sessions with all types of dogs.

Do Cripple Creek dog hiking trails accommodate multiple dogs?

Most Cripple Creek dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings for specifics). If you have several dogs—especially if some are reactive toward strange dogs or if you have mixed ages (puppies and seniors)—private dog hiking trails let them play together safely without outside interference or triggers.

What amenities do Cripple Creek dog hiking trails offer?

Cripple Creek dog hiking trails feature amenities like marked trail paths through natural terrain, open meadow areas for off-leash play, and shaded rest spots along the route. Many hosts provide extras: poop bags, water stations, toys, shaded seating, parking, even dog wash stations. Each Cripple Creek listing clearly shows what's available. Look for amenities matching your dog's needs: shade for heat-sensitive breeds, water for swimmers, agility for active dogs, or privacy features for anxious pets.

Are Cripple Creek dog hiking trails available year-round?

Many Cripple Creek hosts maintain their dog hiking trails throughout all seasons. Filter for covered or climate-controlled options if weather matters. Indoor dog hiking trails provide year-round access regardless of Cripple Creek weather conditions. Check individual listings for seasonal availability and policies.
