The Doggy Dome

Fully Fenced
15 acres

We live on 15 acres, and now have 1.5 acres fully fenced! It is all very flat land making for an easy stroll with your dogs. We are boarded on two edges by farm fields and two edges by neighbors. There is a trail that circles the property, with plenty of space to explore. During the summer, please take advantage of the small kiddie pool. There are also toys and chairs in the fenced area for all guests. Some seasonal things to keep in mind: Spring/fall when we have heavy rain, some areas could have standing water and/or be muddy. Mid to late summer, there are fox tails (cheat grass) that can cling to your dogs. Winter, the trails might not be plowed. There will be a 5gal bucket in the wood shed (inside the fenced area) full of water you can use to refill the two water bowls. Keep an eye out for trip hazards! Logs, sticks, uneven ground and holes.

Ray's Private Dog Park In Edwall

Partially Fenced
50 acres

The 50 acres is mostly timber, with a 7 acre pond that has water in it most of the year. It will dry up on really hot years. I do have chickens and pack goats by the house. But they are inside mesh fencing, so your dogs won’t be able to get to them. The 50 acres is completely fenced with a 3 to 5 strand Barbwire fence. It’s in good shape. It is also the property boundary. So as long as you stay inside of the fence, you will be on the property. There are not a lot of neighbors but the ones I have are nice. When you come up the driveway, you can pass the house and drive up on the hill and Park at the conex container. There is lots of wildlife on the property, and I highly recommend that your dog has some sort of tick repellent, we do have ticks in the spring time. The upper part of the driveway is not graveled, so if there’s melting snow, or a lot of ran, it can get muddy. So be prepared for that. I hope you enjoy the property as much as we do. ***ALL PRICES LISTED ARE IN USD***

Nearly at the end of it, you'll will drive up a hill. Once over the hill, drive ahead until you reach a white RV ahead of you. Park to the right or left before the RV. You’ll see a fenced area (to your right), hobbit (made of sticks) fences and flowers (to your left of where you park). SniffSpot prevents active links grab a screenshot and send the shot to ChatGPT or any AI app, it will make the link active: https://www.google.com/maps/d/embed?mid=1Qt7TZuAU0Ch4aBdz2ye2zUUNCOvWnRk&ehbc=2E312F The link is a map of the 20 acres with trails, bird watching sites, wildlife sightings, and ponds. Trust the journey. Let your pup run wild (off-leash) through tall, waving grass, explore trails, or dive into the ponds (Gaia gives it five wet tail wags). This is a natural playground, not a manicured park, where paws get muddy and noses stay busy. My dog Gaia might greet you, she’s friendly, gentle, and loves having company. If your pup prefers solo adventures, just let me know. Your presence and financial support go 100% to dogs in need. Nurses: Please pick flowers. They are for you.

55It was so nice! It was pretty easy to find, apple maps took us straight to the entrance and the parking! The pups absolutely loved it! They got to run around on the trails and we walked down to the river where they swam for an hour!! We brought some towels and snacks and set up a little picnic while the dogs sniffed and played, we will definitely be coming back!!! I will say pack light if you’re planning on going to the river, it wasn’t that bad of a walk I would just bring less stuff next time:)

55So, as others have said, the road is a bit rough and I wasn't quite sure I was in the right place. That being said, the trail was obvious and even marked with blue tape flags, so it was very easy to know where to go. We didn't run into anyone else during our time there, which was good because I have a reactive dog. Spent some time by the river. I will definitely book a longer time slot next time!

55Lots of woodsy trails and a lot is uphill to start. It was great for us but be prepared for a little workout for yourself too! There's lots of natural break points though and the trails are very nicely maintained and labeled. The meadow from the parking spot to the trails is very wet right now so definitely bring your waterproof boots. We could hear a dog barking far in the distance, just a few times, but no where possible to see them and I was able to call both my reactive buggers away without incident. I would absolutely return here. Also, I'd highly recommend booking at least 90 minutes so you can take your time

55This is my third visit to this Sniffspot, one of my favorites. I've already reviewed the spot; I just wanted to mention today that you might want to wear rubber boots if you visit when it's raining hard. The water was pooling near the footbridge and in a few spots along the trail. Aside from that, the trails are in good shape and not too muddy.

55Loved this spot and I plan to come back again! Loved the trails and my dogs ran and ran and ran some more! They were in heaven. Even though it was pouring down rain during my visit, I didn't feel that it was too muddy; the coating of leaves and straw on the trails helped that a lot. My dogs give it a 4 paws up!

55This is by far one of my favorite sniff spots! Scout and I had a blast. It's clean, quiet, well marked and the trials are so much fun. I can't wait to see it in the winter, spring, summer and the fall before the leaves all hit the ground. Simply beautiful ❤️

55Well maintained and marked trails. Safety is a huge factor when I am considering spots and although this spot was unfenced, we did not see or hear any other people or dogs. I would definitely recommend booking more than one hour to be able to fully enjoy all of the trails this spot has to offer!

55Beautiful spot, and especially scenic with the fall leaves. It’s a real “choose your own adventure” with trails that weave and split along the way. Parking spot is marked with a Sniffspot sign, and wooden signs with song lyrics can potentially serve as trail markers if you need them. Dog was in heaven (until I had to carry him back to the car).

55Pretty forest with some steep trails. Our foster pup had a great time sniffing for critters. Some of the newer roads through the property are bare dirt, so they will be muddy come rainy season, but perhaps there are plans to put down gravel. Didn't see or hear any other dogs. There are horses on neighboring properties you might see when parking, but they are pretty far away.

Frequently asked questions about Ford dog hiking trails

Where can I find dog hiking trails in Ford?

Ford has 9 private dog hiking trails available through Sniffspot, offering natural exploration and varied terrain in completely private settings. These locations range from compact spaces to properties spanning 50+ acres. Whether you need a space for your reactive dog, puppy socialization, senior dog gentle exercise, or high-energy play, Ford dog hiking trails provide safe, private environments. Filter for "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, or fencing types to find your perfect match.

How many dog hiking trails are in Ford?

Ford offers 9 dog hiking trails ranging from compact spaces to properties spanning acres. You'll find options such as dog field, fully fenced dog park, dog agility park, and more. Each Ford dog hiking trail listing shows detailed photos, amenities, fencing specs, and reviews from local dog owners.

Are Ford dog hiking trails good for all dog types?

Yes! Ford dog hiking trails work for every dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer without large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space, and reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. The completely private bookings mean each dog gets the environment they need. Browse Ford's 9 options to find spaces matching your dog's specific temperament and needs.

Will I encounter other dogs at Ford dog hiking trails?

Not a chance. Ford dog hiking trails operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Ford owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.

Are Ford dog hiking trails safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Yes! Ford dog hiking trails provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment without overwhelming encounters. Many Ford dog owners specifically choose dog hiking trails for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Can puppies use Ford dog hiking trails?

Absolutely! Ford dog hiking trails are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

How do I choose the best dog hiking trail in Ford?

Start by filtering Ford's 9 dog hiking trails for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Ford's The Doggy Dome with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Ford owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.

What are Ford's dog hiking trail requirements?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Ford host may have additional rules on their listing. Most dog hiking trails welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
