The Gulch Lake

Unfenced
100 acres

The ultimate dog escape! A certified organic ranch and dreamy lake surrounded by rolling hills! Your dogs can experience wild foul, fish and cattle or spend their time time swimming away at the lake! There is a picnic table (not in the best shape, but can fit about 4 people) for your stuff and a great combination of sun and shade surrounding the lake! We recently added a 1.2 mile trail around our property. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Accessing our lake requires a bit of a walk through uneven terrain with cow holes, which may be challenging for some. If you have difficulty walking on rough ground, this Sniffspot may not be the best fit. While there is a path, it is not perfectly smooth, and less active visitors may find it hard to navigate. Cows do roam freely in the same field. They are harmless, but please be sure to close all gates securely when entering or leaving the area. We recommend ignoring the cows—they’ll leave you alone if you do the same. Our house is the only house on the right side of the road. Please do not stop/disturb the first houses on the left side of the driveway. Keep coming down our driveway and park near the light blue green house on the right. If you’re wondering if we test for toxic blue green algae, the answer is yes! The test was negative! Please see our pictures for confirmation of a negative test! Test performed on 6/1/25

Kara's Happy Dog Tails And Trails Hiking Ranch

Partially Fenced
500 acres

Hi this ranch is a beautiful private place to walk and hike with your dogs. I grew up out here and this ranch holds many wonderful memories for me and my family. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. *IMPORTANT* We have young cows out here that roam around freely. They will occasionally be in the area where you will be hiking. KEEP YOUR DOGS LEASHED IF THEY MAY CHASE THE HEIFERS! I also have this description shown in the potential hazards section of my spot. Thank you 🙏

Frequently asked questions about Inverness dog hiking trails

What amenities do Inverness dog hiking trails typically include?

Inverness dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: woods, hiking trail and scenic views, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Inverness hosts customize their spaces. Browse 5 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

Can I find dog hiking trails in Inverness with water access?

Many Inverness dog hiking trails include water features! Filter by amenities to find swimming pools, natural ponds, or water play areas. Water is perfect for hot Inverness days, water-loving breeds, or low-impact exercise for seniors and disabled dogs. Each listing specifies water type, depth, and safety features. Some Inverness hosts provide life vests or shallow options for nervous swimmers.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Inverness compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Inverness see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Inverness hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Inverness dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Inverness dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Inverness private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Inverness?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Inverness that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Inverness dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Inverness dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Inverness dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Inverness where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Inverness dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Inverness dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Inverness hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Inverness dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Inverness dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Inverness dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Inverness special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
