55The stream is beautiful just as described! It’s definitely a picnic worthy place and dip your toes in water. I wish we were more prepared for it and we arrived a bit late so hardly did any hiking, but I would definitely come back!Judy T.

55Very lovely space for my dog to explore. He was exhausted afterwards in the best way. A really great place for him to decompress. The road is very rocky/rough driving wise but worth it once you arrive. Kiara M.

55Wonderful hike around the avocado grove! The host came out to greet us when we arrived, but otherwise we saw no other people or dogs. The area is fenced in except for a gate that we drove through – not sure if they closed that behind us or not, but we kept our dog on a long line. Would definitely book again!Karli R.

55This was absolutely worth the two hour drive from LA. You’re essentially renting out your own private hiking trail. Great for recall practice with my reactive dog. I will definitely be back. I didn’t do the creek trail but I think if I do it in the future, I’ll book two hours to make sure I have time! Thank you for this great spot!Michelle C.

55This is a wonderful property and David & Alma couldn't have been any nicer. My land navigation skills aren't the best so I gave myself a little extra time to find it but the maps and directions Alma sent me were so helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting David when I arrived and he pointed me in the direction for the stream hike.
My boxer used to hike off-leash in Hawaii but we haven't found many hikes in CA (until now) where he could be off-leash, so he was one happy boy! I kept my other dog on a longline since she doesn't have a good recall. We spent the whole time at the little beach next to the stream because they were enjoying the water so much. It was a great spot to sit in the chairs and eat lunch while I tossed a ball to my dogs.
The hike back to the car was a steep one and I'm not sure who was more tired at the end of it all, me or my dogs. They say a tired dog is a happy dog. Tired or not, we all enjoyed our day very much! Thank you to David & Alma for making their ranch available to us through Sniffspot and for being such gracious hosts! Becky S.

55Loved the spot - my lab Bruce had a blast exploring! It rained a lot recently so we weren’t able to walk along the creek as much as you probably can sometimes but the upside was there was enough water to swim in. Bruce definitely approved! Karla G.

55This is a beautiful and natural, rugged property with clear trails; my hound had the best birthday exploring everything. Wear your hiking shoes. Host friendly and communicative. The basic booking was a big loop around/through the 20 acre avocado grove. We got a map with a hiking loop and driving directions beforehand; follow the instructions to turn off the main road at the metal gate with two signs (from the south)
There are several trails, and host responded immediately to texts when I wasn't sure if we were still on the loop. Once you get up the trail turn right at the water tank for the loop. Host said we could continue on past the water tank to the next uphill trail off to the right, which ended in a grassy area with pretty views. If you continue on further the creek trail offshoots down/right from the main trail (we did not book the creek add-on but host kindly gifted that while we still had a bit of time left on the booking, and it is a gorgeous place just a short downhill hike into the canyon) ... Host said we could have continued on past the river trail to another dead-end trail, but we ran out of time. Had we simply meandered along the avocado grove loop I imagine we would have completed that in about 30-45 minutes with playing & exploring.
Yes it is pricier than some of the other sniffspots, but if your dog is crazy and loves to explore like mine, it is completely worth it for the exercise and enrichment; nothing compares to off-leash adventures. I'm not sure I would be able to keep my hound (who has zero regard for my bank account) from the river now that she knows where the trail is, but we will be back for regular bookings and exercise.
Thanks to the hosts for sharing this piece of heaven.
Tell the host if your dog is reactive, they will stay out of sight. Michele S.

55Amazing! We brought our two dogs, who otherwise live in a small yard…and they were thrilled!! The stream is a dog magnet. Our boxer and lab mix immediately gravitated toward it, and were in total paradise. The little “beach” next to the stream is so cute, equipped with chairs and an umbrella - we enjoyed sandwiches and a beer while the dogs ran around sniffing and submerging.
We’ll definitely come back and recommend this location to friends/dog owners!Libby P.

55Alma and David were such welcoming hosts, and completely understood how difficult it is to find nature spots for a reactive dog to enjoy. We’re so grateful they’ve opened their space to other dog families.
We did the "add-on" stream hike, which involved a very steep trail down to the stream, but culminated in a lovely shaded spot complete with a tree swing over the water, and picnic areas on both sides of the stream with chairs to watch our dog play in the water. Even though the temperature was in the high 80’s, the spot was shaded and cool, and the water was crystal clear and cold, about 1-2 ft deep in November. Our rescue German Shepherd loved every minute of it from being able to go off leash and enjoy the natural setting to splashing around in the water and clambering over rocks. And it was such a relief for us not to worry about other people/dogs/animals showing up!
We ordered the add-on picnic lunch by the stream, which our hosts brought down via ATV. Also well worth it! An amazing charcuterie board, large croissant sandwiches, and fruit from the farm. The hike down and fresh air gave us an appetite and it was all delicious. (The steep hike back up with full stomachs was a challenge!)
We will definitely be back. I’m sure Ellie can’t wait!

Frequently asked questions about La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails
What types of dog hiking trails are available in La Sierra Hills?
La Sierra Hills has 13 dog hiking trails offers wooded trails, open meadows, and varied natural terrain. Whether you need a fully-fenced space for poor recall, a quiet location for a reactive dog, appropriate sizing for small breeds, gentle terrain for seniors, or specific amenities like water features or agility equipment, you'll find options in La Sierra Hills. Filter by fencing, size, distractions, and amenities to match your needs.
When can I book dog hiking trails in La Sierra Hills?
La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails are available based on host scheduling—many operate dawn to dusk or even 24/7. Unlike public dog parks with rigid hours, you choose the exact time that works for you. Check individual La Sierra Hills listings for specific availability. Flexible scheduling is especially helpful for dogs with specific needs: reactive dogs who do better during quieter times, working dog owners needing early/late slots, or seniors needing cooler morning hours.
How do I book a dog hiking trail in La Sierra Hills?
Browse 13 available dog hiking trails in La Sierra Hills, select your preferred date and time, and reserve through Sniffspot. Most La Sierra Hills locations offer instant booking. You'll receive confirmation, exact address, and entry instructions. The booking process takes just minutes—perfect when your dog needs exercise, whether that's a reactive dog requiring safe space, a puppy needing socialization, or an energetic dog burning off steam.
What's the most popular dog hiking trail in La Sierra Hills?
CHOICE AVOCADOS - DOGGY DAY ADVENTURES is highly rated among La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails, known for excellent amenities and positive reviews. However, the "best" spot depends on your dog's needs—reactive dogs might prioritize privacy and quiet, puppies might need secure fencing, seniors might want flat terrain, while active dogs might want maximum running space. Browse La Sierra Hills listings to find your ideal match.
Can I use La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails for training sessions?
Yes! La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails are perfect for training because they're private and distraction-free. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, help reactive dogs build confidence, socialize puppies, or work on obedience—all without public dog park unpredictability. Many La Sierra Hills professional trainers use these spaces for client sessions with all types of dogs.
Do La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails accommodate multiple dogs?
Most La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings for specifics). If you have several dogs—especially if some are reactive toward strange dogs or if you have mixed ages (puppies and seniors)—private dog hiking trails let them play together safely without outside interference or triggers.
What amenities do La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails offer?
La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails feature amenities like marked trail paths through natural terrain, open meadow areas for off-leash play, and shaded rest spots along the route. Many hosts provide extras: poop bags, water stations, toys, shaded seating, parking, even dog wash stations. Each La Sierra Hills listing clearly shows what's available. Look for amenities matching your dog's needs: shade for heat-sensitive breeds, water for swimmers, agility for active dogs, or privacy features for anxious pets.
Are La Sierra Hills dog hiking trails available year-round?
Many La Sierra Hills hosts maintain their dog hiking trails throughout all seasons. Filter for covered or climate-controlled options if weather matters. Indoor dog hiking trails provide year-round access regardless of La Sierra Hills weather conditions. Check individual listings for seasonal availability and policies.
