This spot is best for solo dogs, small packs, puppies, nervous dogs, city/suburban dogs who need a reset, and owners who want a calmer off-leash option. Book the space for fetch, training practice, decompression time, puppy confidence-building, or a quiet sniff session. The yard is private during your booking. Please leash dogs when entering and exiting, clean up after your visit, and leave the space as you found it. Water, seating, trash access, and basic dog-friendly setup are available where noted in the listing. This back yard is fully fenced with driveway guest parking. There is a mix of both sun and shade, and a hose for water. The grass is treated for bugs in the spring and kept short through the summer. Riverview yard in Albany Park

Large yard right on the river. No access to the river (yard is fully fenced), but human views of the water, ducks, other birds, and wildflowers on the bank. Pesticide and herbicide free lawn but various flowers, shrubs (and weeds) on the edges. Plenty of birds, bunnies, squirrels, etc. more than your average Chicago yard. End of dead end with pretty good privacy. Chain link fence on most and iron fence at front. Not ideal for small dogs or escape artists that can squeeze under or through fence. See photos for details of fence and if your dog would try to squeeze through. There are 3 big dogs at the house across the alley, but they are also well fenced. They are out on occasion, but usually not for long and I can’t guarantee their schedule. The view is mostly blocked by garbage cans and bushes, but not completely, so this may not be the place if your pup is super reactive. There are 2 Adirondack chairs, feel free to move them around into sun or shade or lay out a blanket or whatever you need to be comfortable. There is stainless steel water bowl and some toys. Feel free to use the hose by the stairs to fill up the water bowl, hose the dogs off or whatever. You can pull it out into the middle of the yard, just put your foot on top of the reel to get better leverage and please reel back in and turn off after use. NOTE: if you are fostering a dog for a local shelter, please send me a message for a discount code! I’d love to help a pup decompress (and get some great photos!) on the way to a forever home!

If you decide to come at dusk, we have a mama raccoon with 3 babies. Please park at the spot closest to the street. Make sure your dog is leashed until inside the yard. Please throw out garbage in the big garbage can outside the gate. There are some balls under the porch and plenty of sticks if your doggie likes to play.
