Wooded trails ~ 10 minutes from downtown AVL

Unfenced
5 acres

Whistlepig Trails offers 5 acres of wooded, hand-maintained trails designed for dogs and their humans to explore. The paths wind through a natural hillside, with gentle slopes, packed earth, and plenty of interesting scents along the way. Maintained with care, these trails provide a safe and engaging space for dogs to roam, sniff, and stretch their legs. Located within a small, artsy campground, the space has a rustic, creative feel, with upcycled structures and a relaxed atmosphere. Sniff Spot visitors are welcome to use the restroom facilities during their visit. For leash-less exploring, that's dog-dependent. There are cats near the big open field, and if your pup likes to chase cats, then we'd ask that you kept your dog on a leash for the safety of our not-terribly-athletic cat. :) On the trails should be fine, but please make sure they're leashed in the parking area. Please note that it is possible that the neighbors dogs could make an appearance. Unfortunately, we have no control over this. :( There's a good chance you'll see other people around the property while you're here. We run a campground for visitors to Asheville and also have folks who live on the property.

David's 66 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Brevard

Unfenced
66 acres

My property has multiple trails, 2 small fields, streams, a large pond for swimming, and a dog wash station! Lots of space to play. Truly a dog paradise! My property is located on a long, gravel driveway (named by me as Maple Gap Rd) off Frozen Creek Road and just a short distance from the back entrance of Gorges State Park. Once turning onto Frozen Creek Road it’s about 1.3 miles on your right. You’ll see a small green sign saying Maple Gap Road and a Sniffspot sign. Parking is available beside the garage (looks like a house). Ok to park behind my silver truck that stays there. You’ll see a Sniffspot ‘park here’ sign, a dog waste station with bags, and a brown bench with tennis balls, water bowls, and bug spray in a storage bin under the seat. Access to the two small fields and stream is across the gravel driveway. My two homes on the property are vacation rentals by owner. If you see guests they may/may not have dogs. Make sure to introduce yourself as a Sniffspot customer. Also, please call or text owner to give advance notice, along with your names and dogs. Thank you! 678-640-0359

Jessica's 9.5 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Black Mountain

Unfenced
9.5 acres

https://youtu.be/XMlu-_mwiD0?feature=shared Welcome to cloud 9! Our sweet little slice of paradise. Click the YouTube link to see a video tour of the property as it was operating prior to the hurricane. Most everything still looks the same... We've removed a couple of tiny houses but otherwise it is as as depicted in the video. With slight changes based on season. We have 9.5 acres of pristine mountain glory We have a large unfenced Field, Shallow Creek with some small waterfalls, a spring that feeds a tiny pond, a large cleared Homesite that's away from the road moderate to difficult trails and beautiful views. The trails are moderate until you come to the areas that we had landslides, at which point, you can turn around or enjoy the difficulty it presents. Sometimes I or other guests may be on property. If you don't want any other dogs present while you're here, please confirm by text ahead of your reservation time. Thanks so much! We look forward to sharing our sweet space with you. We do not have any trash service. Please do not leave any trash of any version on property including plastic wrapped poop... you'd think that would go without saying...but experience shows it must be said.🙄 All of your activities while on property are at your own risk. Owners, heirs, and other affiliated parties are not responsible for anything that happens to you or your pet.

Frequently asked questions about Maggie Valley dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Maggie Valley can't guarantee any of this. With 12 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Maggie Valley?

Yes! Most of Maggie Valley's 12 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Maggie Valley listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley?

Puppies can visit Maggie Valley dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Maggie Valley trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Maggie Valley?

Browse Maggie Valley's 12 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Maggie Valley listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Riverside - 16 acre mix of fields/woods/trails on the French Broad River is particularly popular among Maggie Valley dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley by the hour?

Yes! All 12 dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Maggie Valley dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Maggie Valley?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Maggie Valley mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 12 Maggie Valley dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Maggie Valley?

Yes! Maggie Valley has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Maggie Valley locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Maggie Valley weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Maggie Valley dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Maggie Valley trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
