We also aerate it occasionally with the fountain. This is a pond though, if your pets jump in, they will get muddy, and they will smell like a pond, so please take that into account if you plan to let them swim. I put filtered water out before you comefor your pets to drink. The pond water is not for drinking. If you are a Karen, go somewhere else. I do this to let others enjoy my property. The little money from sniffspot doesn't even help with maintenance.
