55Securely fenced, large area with plenty of things to sniff. One of my dogs favorite spots. A few sticker patches, but that’s to be expected. I love how the sniff area is separate from the home with a clear area for parking. It’s much more like a private dog park rather than being in someone’s backyard. Tracey E.

55Very dog friendly, easy to locate and enter, and nice touch to have a clean water bowl out and BEAUTIFUL view! It’s a nice clean yard, next to a moderately busy road with sounds of the traffic, dog barking in the house, and chickens. FYI if your dog is reactive to any of those. Suzanne was very communicative and everything was super smooth. M Y.

55Great spot to take your friend and run around together! Nice big yard with mountain views. The owners are there to help if you need them, we saw them briefly but they just let you do your own thing. They had water out for our dog as well. We will visit this spot again! Rachel & Dillon L.

55Spot was clean and had a water pump and water bowl which was cool because our dog drinks a ton of water. It was a beautiful day. Trash can was available. Sunny spotted a bird and chased it for a bit. We threw his toys. He had so much fun and is all tuckered out. It’s so nice to have places like this. We have a yard but it’s small. Sunny has to be the only dog so we appreciate it so much. Thanks so much. We will be back! Malinda C.

55Wonderful Sniffspot that was very easy to access! Fence was very secure around the huge field! My dog played fetch super hard and sprinted the entire time. He left exhausted and so happy! Field has cute benches, lots of shade, poo bin, water tap and water bowl, and a huge jug of hand sanitizer. We will be back! 😃Makenzie J.

55Good fencing all the way around, really nice shady spots under the trees and there are some nice benches to sit on. It's a really long strip of land so it's good for dogs who like to fetch and walking the fenceline is good exercise too. There is a water pump and bowl available. Nice spot, will come back!Shawn R.

55What a great yard! Spacious, nice green grass, and plenty of trees. My dog's had a great time sniffing and chasing.
HipHop's only complaint was, "so many trees and zero squirrels! What gives?" We'll have to visit again soon to see if we can find some squirrels. 🐶💚🐿JoAnn T.

55This was our first location to try. The dogs were very curious and happy. I didn’t find the 3 parking spaces but I think I parked in an area out of the way. There was a trash bin for poop. I brought water for the dogs. Typical farm land with privacy. Jenny S.

Frequently asked questions about Merino dog parks
What amenities do private dog parks in Merino offer that public parks don't?
Merino private dog parks offer amenities you'll never find at public facilities: swimming pools for water-loving dogs, agility equipment for training, climate-controlled indoor spaces for year-round use, hiking trails on private property, and secure fencing customized for different dog sizes. Hosts provide poop bags, water stations, toys, and even dog wash stations. Kathy's Private Dog Park In Brush is especially known for exceptional amenities. Every Merino listing shows exactly what's included—no surprises.
Are there fully fenced private dog parks in Merino?
Yes! Most of Merino's 10 Sniffspot locations are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed fencing specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, or reactive dogs who need contained space. Merino listings show fencing photos so you can verify security before booking.
How clean are private dog parks in Merino compared to public ones?
Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Merino are maintained by overworked city staff and often littered with waste from dozens of dogs daily. Sniffspot hosts in Merino maintain their own spaces and take pride in cleanliness since it directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Merino hosts provide fresh poop bags, empty trash regularly, and sanitize water stations. Plus, with only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal. Check reviews to see cleanliness ratings.
What types of dog parks can I find in Merino?
Merino has 10 diverse options: fully fenced dog parks for specific training activities, small dog parks for different environments, and dog fields for varied experiences. Want a backyard for simple off-leash time? We've got it. Need acres of trails for hiking? Check. Looking for water access or agility obstacles? Available. Browse by park type to see what matches your dog's interests, then filter by location within Merino to find convenient options.
Can I book Merino dog parks on short notice?
Usually yes! Many Merino Sniffspot locations offer same-day or next-day availability, and most bookings can be made instantly without waiting for host approval. Unlike public dog parks that might be crowded during peak times, Merino private parks let you reserve exactly when you need them—early morning before work, midday breaks, or evening exercise. Check individual listings for real-time availability and booking policies.
Do Merino dog parks have water access?
Many do! Filter Merino's 10 locations by amenities to find dog parks with swimming pools, natural ponds, creeks, or beach access. Water features are perfect for Merino's hot summer days or for dogs who love to swim. Each listing specifies water type and depth, plus whether it's safe for swimming or just wading. Some Merino hosts provide life vests or shallow kiddie pools for water-nervous dogs.
Are there indoor dog parks in Merino?
Yes! Merino has climate-controlled indoor options perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Merino locations typically feature rubberized flooring (easier on joints), artificial turf, or padded surfaces. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs needing gentle surfaces, or reactive dogs benefiting from enclosed environments. Filter by "indoor" to see Merino's covered and climate-controlled options.
What's the best time to visit dog parks in Merino?
With Sniffspot, any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks that are crowded during peak hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't have to worry about timing in Merino. Book whenever fits your schedule—midday when public parks are empty, dawn for cool weather, or late evening for convenience. Many Merino locations have lighting for after-dark visits. The flexibility is one of the biggest advantages over public parks.
