Captain's Retreat at Bear Creek located off Highway 64 in Mocksville! 4.5 acres of fully fenced (woven mesh wire and post/rail 5.5ft to 6ft high) with trails, woods, field, and plenty of room to run and explore! Open the front gate and drive into the secure parking area. ***CLOSE AND LATCH THE GATE BEHIND YOU BEFORE GETTING YOUR DOGS OUT OF THE CAR!*** Walk through gate into the space from the secure parking area. This area has wooded trails as well as cleared areas. Densely wooded areas and thickets all around. TICK PREVENTION IS A MUST! There are no pesticides or herbicides used here. Only natural horticulture vingear for spot weed control. This area is located beside Bear Creek and when the creek is high or after a good rain IT WILL BE MUDDY on the right side of the property! Dry creekbed located across the back of the property. **The Creek is NOT accessible from the fenced property** -Water hose on site for use. Dog shower/bath area to the right of the shed with dog wash hose attached, shampoo, and wash shammy. Or you may bring your own bath supplies! Feel free to give your dog a shower/bath! ***Just added dog pool*** For use at no extra charge! Fill up/use if you'd like! Now I just want to see other dogs using it and having fun. 🐾🥰 We are open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm weather permitting. Private saltwater pool. Dogs are allowed to jump in but must use steps or ramp to get out. NOTE: Veterans and Active Duty Service Members get half off the hourly rate with Military ID. Thank you for your service & sacrifice!! 🇺🇸🎗️ This is a completely privacy fenced area with deck, patio, sunroom and an 18x36 in-ground saltwater pool. You & your dog can swim safely and securely in the pool Kiddie pool is also available for dogs who are unsure about the "Big" pool - set up, fresh water, and cleaning afterwards for a small extra fee. Choose this in the Extras section. Doggy life jackets in Small, Medium, Large, and XL are provided. Please hang them up to dry after use. Plenty of seating and shade available. Mini fridge with cold bottled water for only $1 each located in the sunroom (choose this in the Extras section). Fun Dog water toys, dog life jackets in all sizes, dog towels, dog pool floats, water bowls and pool ramp available to use at no extra charge. Please bring your own sunscreen. Max of two people (adults) per dog unless otherwise arranged with Host. Unfortunately, NO children under the age of 16 permitted IN the pool due to liability reasons unless pre-approved ! If you are bringing a child with you, they can sit on the side of the pool or in a chair and watch the dogs swim. They are NOT allowed in the pool under any circumstances unless pre-approved by ne in advance!! If You are bringing more than one dog, they must already know each other and get along! It is highly recommended that you brush your dog before your visit. If excessive fur in the filter becomes a problem then this sniff spot will unfortunately no longer be available. Located in the foothills, the Slys Peace trail was created for dog stimulation. The trail starts at the lower end of the pasture and follows the creek meandering through a rhododendron forest. Situated at the base of 100 acres of wooded ridge land, the hike offers a wilderness experience customized to your comfort zone. There are multiple trails to accommodate your level of exercise. The full experience will require crossing the creek multiple times and is recommended for those with hiking experience. Trails are easy to follow with multiple exits that lead out to the pasture. This is dog heaven. Let your dog be a dog. To locate the gate entrance watch for the Giant metal horse. His nose points the way. Follow the fenceline a few hundred feet where you will find the gate just before the power line easement. There is now a large Sniff Spot sign securely attached.
