The Gulch Lake

Unfenced
100 acres

The ultimate dog escape! A certified organic ranch and dreamy lake surrounded by rolling hills! Your dogs can experience wild foul, fish and cattle or spend their time time swimming away at the lake! There is a picnic table (not in the best shape, but can fit about 4 people) for your stuff and a great combination of sun and shade surrounding the lake! We recently added a 1.2 mile trail around our property. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Accessing our lake requires a bit of a walk through uneven terrain with cow holes, which may be challenging for some. If you have difficulty walking on rough ground, this Sniffspot may not be the best fit. While there is a path, it is not perfectly smooth, and less active visitors may find it hard to navigate. Cows do roam freely in the same field. They are harmless, but please be sure to close all gates securely when entering or leaving the area. We recommend ignoring the cows—they’ll leave you alone if you do the same. Our house is the only house on the right side of the road. Please do not stop/disturb the first houses on the left side of the driveway. Keep coming down our driveway and park near the light blue green house on the right. If you’re wondering if we test for toxic blue green algae, the answer is yes! The test was negative! Please see our pictures for confirmation of a negative test! Test performed on 6/1/25

Kara's Happy Dog Tails And Trails Hiking Ranch

Partially Fenced
500 acres

Hi this ranch is a beautiful private place to walk and hike with your dogs. I grew up out here and this ranch holds many wonderful memories for me and my family. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. *IMPORTANT* We have young cows out here that roam around freely. They will occasionally be in the area where you will be hiking. KEEP YOUR DOGS LEASHED IF THEY MAY CHASE THE HEIFERS! I also have this description shown in the potential hazards section of my spot. I also show in the potential hazards that there are a lot of ticks this time of year! April through July. Please be careful! Thank you 🙏

Ann's Acreage Partially Fenced Private Dog Park In Cloverdale

Partially Fenced
40 acres

Parking: There is plenty of roadside parking available during the day. For overnight parking, we recommend parking off the road, such as near the porta potty area or on the opposite side closer to the road. Restrictions: Catching or keeping wild animals, including fish from the creek, is prohibited. Public waterways are regulated by California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and dogs are not permitted to swim in the creek. Please refer to California Department of Fish and Wildlife for licensing requirements. Gate Access: In general, the gate will remain closed unless you have an AWD vehicle and provide the necessary information in advance. Please note that we are unable to provide emergency roadside assistance on site. To Do: At the top of the driveway, there is a turnaround area where dogs can run freely. At the end of the turnaround area, you’ll find a tree swing. Past the swing is a chicken coop and shaded area where pallets sit, and beyond the fence behind the chicken coop, there is a fire access road that may lead back down to the main road. On the opposite side of the road, there is a trail located behind the sand pile, with a small bridge crossing along the way. While river access may be possible, it is not officially provided.

10 Acres of "Sniffari" Heaven: Private Farm & Orchard Retreat

Fully Fenced
10 acres

Escape the city noise and give your dog 10 acres of fully fenced, secure freedom! Tired of the same old walk around the block? Our farm offers a massive landscape for your pup to explore. From hiking the hills for stunning mountain views to wandering through fruit orchards and our seasonal creek, it’s the ultimate sensory adventure. The Farm Experience Your dog can see and smell our resident farm animals (including horses!) from the safety of their enclosed pastures. It’s a wonderful socialization opportunity for curious pups who want to experience the sights and sounds of country life. Our "Good Neighbor" Policy To ensure a peaceful environment for our resident animals, our neighbors, and other guests, we require all visitors to adhere to the following: • Respect the Residents: Our farm animals live here. This space is not suitable for dogs with high predatory drive or those who will obsessively bark at, charge, or "fence-fight" with the livestock. • The "One Warning" Rule: If a dog is unable to settle and continues to harass the animals or disrupt the peace of the farm, we reserve the right to end the session early to ensure everyone’s safety. Guests who leave on their own will be fully refunded. If we have to intervene there will be no refund. • Safety Zone: If your dog is a "vocal" explorer or unsure of livestock, please utilize our smaller enclosed dog park area. It’s perfect for off-leash fun with an extra layer of security. • Leave No Trace: Please pick up after your pup. Why Choose Us? • Fully Private: No surprise off-leash dogs. Just you, your pup, and the mountains. • Diverse Terrain: Trails, hills, and flat play areas. • Extended Care: Ask about our Doggy Daycare and Overnight Boarding services!

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Penngrove compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Penngrove see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Penngrove hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Penngrove dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Penngrove dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Penngrove private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Penngrove?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Penngrove that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Penngrove dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Penngrove dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Penngrove dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Penngrove where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Penngrove dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Penngrove dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Penngrove hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Penngrove dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Penngrove dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Penngrove dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Penngrove special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
