Great first experience! This was a nice fenced in dog play yard with pools and toys and some shade to hide from the sun. Exhausted our pup and gave him some great playtime and new exposure. Will definitely come again!

This was a dream come true for our dog reactive pup! I can’t say enough good things. Entry was simple, there were toys, water bowls, and a hose available for use as well. My dog is exhausted and so so happy. Thanks so much - we can’t wait to come back!

The place was great. Lots to smell and explore. Toys, water bowls, poop bags, etc… my only issue was there was two piles of poo there but I didn’t take a star away or anything because someone could have left it there that same morning. Otherwise it was great and I’ll definitely book again.

Nice spot in a relatively quiet location with toys, potty bags, and seating for humans. A note for small dog owners: my nosy 12lb dog kept trying to squeeze through the fencing facing 10th St; he only got his head through, but a smaller dog could probably fit, so keep a close eye on your little chis and poms!

My pups had their first Sniffspot experience. We had such a fun time. Everything we needed was there. Tall fence, toys, large poop bags, water, just bring your dogs. Host and I had great communication. This is a great space and more importantly a safe space for my reactive dogs.

Super clean with a ton of toys! I have a chocolate lab, aussie mix who needs to get his energy out but can be reactive with other dogs so this was a great way to toss a tennis ball for him for a bit! He’s gained a few pounds with aging so we only made it 35 minutes, but will be back to run some of those pounds off! The hour is a great amount of time though! Hose is easy to use for drinking water for your pup!

I love going to the doghaus but have never been able to bring my dog. It was great to be able to rent the space. Fencing is the iron type so you can see dogs walking past. We did keep leashes on because my dog can jump the fence if he wanted too. Yard was clean, had a hose and trash cans available. Thanks for having this service!

This is our fourth time! We love it. Especially Bear. The tall fence quells any temptation to escape and the treats and toys invite maximum playtime. I’m so grateful to Dawn (homeowner) for this resource. We’ve made her yard a weekly play date on our calendar.

We had a GREAT time with Bear. He loved the yard and it was fun to watch him prance around the space and roll in the grass. We live in a townhouse with no backyard and so it’s a delight to see the dog have fun and play. Thanks for sharing the space. We’ll be back.

I enjoyed the different levels of concrete and combo of grass and pavement. Great place to provide some more socialization to different textures on their feet. Very calm quite area as well, perfect for more timid dogs. Host is very friendly and communicates quickly. Fencing was a great height and secured well. No complaints. Overall great experience.

This was my first time using Sniff Spot and we could not have had a better experience! Host was quick to reply to questions I had beforehand and everything went smoothly. The yard is well maintained and having a privacy fence was great. We will definitely be back soon!

Fence was plenty high, locks on inside ,you can occasionally see someone walk by in alley but my reactive dog didn’t pay any attention! :) Area was clean and quiet , just normal neighbors. Would recommend! :)
What other types of private dog parks are available?
Dog water parks
Many hosts have added water features like pools and/or are nearby lakes or rivers.
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 92% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the St. Louis area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 58 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 6 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
