I chose to take adoptable Bear for a break from the shelter and he had an absolute blast running around and jumping in the pool. Bear loved everything about this spot, from running through the barn to sniffing along the perimeter to splashing in the pool. Bear loved cooling off in the shade in front of the misting fan after an hour of romping in the sun. Bear even had his own personalized water bowl to drink from - what a treat! Studies show that even short adventures outside of the shelter can help reduce stress for shelter animals and make them more adoptable. This is certainly true for Bear who napped the whole way back to the shelter. Bear gives this spot two paws up! 🐾 Tonya A.

55We had the best time running around in the sun this morning! I wanted to tire my dog out before all the fireworks tonight and this spot is the perfect place to do that. My dog sniffed around the yard for half an hour until she sniffed all the sniffs she could sniff, and then we tossed the ball for the remaining time. The host had the spot decorated for the 4th of July and even had bandanas available for a photo op - too cute! We love this spot because it is always clean and the host has great communication. 55Wow this was HEAVEN, for Aspen but also for me! I could have spent all day in this gorgeous, serene, GREEN backyard! There were treats and toys galore, so many sites to sniff for Aspen, a coffee and snack bar for me and Lisa even had fourth of July themed bandannas to put on Aspen and take pictures. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers).
