Jenna O'Connor

Two Gun Kennels is owned and operated by Brian & Jenna O'Connor. We have been dedicated with trying to make the world a better place for Drents and their owners since 2007. Our efforts with a domestic breed organization for the Drent are pretty well known by most. For many years our efforts were what made that organization solvent. The Board established in 2022, stopped the discussion, and in the process made the group inhospitable and toxic. We resigned our posts and memberships because this behavior runs contrary to everything we stand for. In 2023, a group of others who also left that organization for similar reasons, began a conversation. That conversation led to the creation of the American Drentsche Patrijshond Association, the premier breed association for the Drent. An organization founded on respect for one another, and naturally, the dogs that bring us together. We are Founding & Charter Members of the ADPA. Jenna serves as the Vice President, and I serve as a non-voting Advisor. If you are considering a Drent, then becoming a member should most assuredly be high on your "todo" list.As a point of interest, Brian is the author of The Drentsche Patrijshond for the North American Fancier, ISBN 978-0-9813523-2-9, which has received acclaim as the 'new face of the single-breed book'. The book sold out in the summer of 2018 (a second edition is slowly taking shape) but may be ordered Print on Demand from Blurb.Additionally, we are current members of the Spinone Club of America and the German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America. As well as the following NAVHDA Chapters: PNW, Scablands, and MT Sharptail. As well as the Spokane Bird Dog Association and Spokane Dog Training Club.Brian has kept and trained dogs for over forty years and has served a foster home for American Brittany Rescue (ABR). He has trained dogs for; agility, hunting, obedience, AKC canine good citizen certification, therapy & Service Dog use, and even stage work. Additionally, he has worked with and studied under numerous Certified Professional Pet Dog Trainers, as well as notable professional hunting dog trainers. Jenna has been a board member for Puget Sound Dock dogs and has trained and handled the first UT Titled Drent in North America. Additionally, we have participated in many Drent activities in the Netherlands to include exhibitions, hunt tests and training, interviewing breeders, as well as several Fokkerdag's, while living in the Netherlands and Spain as well as traveling back from the U.S. At a Breeder's Day in 2010 Brian received Conformation Judging training from Mr. Wim Wellens. Currently we have an ownership stake in eight Drents, so It is safe to say we are fully committed or need to be committed. When we are not serving the Club, or doing general dog stuff we enjoy being students, hiking, training and hunting our Drents at least 75+ days each hunting season. We are also active members of the Spinone Club of America. Additionally, we utilize the Puppy Culture protocol for raising our puppies. In the spring of 2019 Brian was honored with the DPCNA's Distinguished Service Award for his service to the Club and breed. In November of 2019, Google recognized TGK for being a highly rated Veteran-Led Business. In December of 2019 by having an approved breeding program by Breeder & Rescue certification. In May of 2020 and again in March of '22 TGK was recognized by Spokane Awards as Best Dog Breeder in Spokane. Just so you know:We are not trying to be "snobby" or even difficult but, our breeding program is not about just selling puppies. We are about producing lifetime companions for foot hunters and intelligent active athletic dogs for Active lifestyle families. We are a Preservationist Breeder for the breeds we are stewards of. We sell To Approved Homes Only and reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone. We sincerely want to make sure our pups and potential New Owners are going to be a good match and as our pups grow, we want to be able track their development and progress. Thank you.
