At the risk of sounding cliche, I have always known that I would become a professional dog trainer. It was very clear to my family and friends from an early age that I was obsessed with all animals, but especially dogs and horses. My first position in dog care was at the young age of ten when I took on the big responsibility for caring for three of my father's highly trained hunting dogs, one of which won a National Field Trial Championship. As a reward for feeding and cleaning the kennels, my father would occasionally let me tag along on bird hunting day trips. I loved those trips and developed a strong work ethic at a young age.I learned how to handle and show AKC confirmation ring in the Junior division during middle and high school. I won several first-place ribbons for my handling skills. During this time, I also worked horses for local people who needed their horses ridden and exercised but they did not have the time to ride their own horses.Following graduation, I received a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design. My love of animals continued in college where I was commissioned during my free time to draw and paint horses and dogs. Then following college I was commissioned while being more involved in showing and training my own horses, through that venue I was commissioned to paint more dogs and horses.Horses and dogs have continued to be my passion. I was certified as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor and taught riding classes at Fieldstone Therapeutic Riding Center in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. I taught students who had physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities the skills of horseback riding and ground lessons to Veterans and students who could not safely ride horses. I taught students of all ages with special needs such as those on the Autism Spectrum, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, etc. My Certifications are:Registered Therapeutic Riding InstructorEquine Specialist in Mental Health LearningSW- Safety Certification
