Mary Ann and Leo were incredibly hospitable. They came out to say hello and welcome us to their yard, which was the perfect space for my dog and her litter mate to meet. They had tons of room to run around in the fenced-in yard. Mary Ann brought out water and tennis balls for the pups too. I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Friendly people. My dog loved getting to run around and play fetch. Fenced in area and a good amount of space. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and after a short conversation just left us too enjoy their yard. Good spot, good people, good vibes.

Our pup Benny had so much fun zooming all around this very nice fenced in yard! The owners were very friendly and came out to pet our pup and offer her water. We were there on a perfect fall day and just enjoyed letting our dog run happily while we watched her as well as the leaves dropping slowly from the mature trees. We would recommend wholeheartedly this is a sniff spot you should check out and we look forward to coming back to let our dog zoom happily safely again.

We had an amazing time here! Our dogs loved the large fenced in yard with tons of space to run! Mary Anne was so kind to offer us water for our dogs, chairs for us to use and even refreshments for us! I cannot wait to go back and I’ll recommend her to anyone who needs a spot to play!

Fantastic roomy fully fenced yard with additional foliage/shrubs along fence line for privacy. Great hosts offered chairs to use in the yard while dogs were playing or resting. Loved the afternoon shade for pups to feel comfortable on a summer day. Can’t wait for more visits here.

We had a great time w Mary. She came out to chat with us briefly while our Great Dane run amok. The yard was ginormous - plenty of room for our big dog. Clean and easy to find. There was shade and places to sit.

The host was super friendly and our dogs had a lot of fun. They were excited to get out and run! This is a great spot for bringing dogs that want & need more exercise than a small yard or leashed walk.

This was an awesome spot! We had the best time. Bucky was able to romp and just be a dog without any concerns. The host was so kind and accommodating. We will be back.

Very pleasant spot and very nice people. I would not consider the entire property "fully fenced", but it worked for our dogs. Also, if you have a longer haired breed be careful of the thistles in the wooded areas, my pup got them caught on his paws several times.

Host very nice, I explained that one of my pups can be Barky with strangers he respected and kept distance while we spoke. He explained plans for future but honestly it was perfect for us. Large open area fenced partially not close to road. Wooded border on 3 sides. Fully fenced area with chairs, fire pit and I believe a barn ( didn’t go in) chickens and ducks but fenced in. The fenced area was covered in wood chips - no mud. The huge field was covered in straw - what should have been a mud bath was pleasantly not. Awesome place.

Great spot! The host was incredibly accommodating and there are so many amenities. There is a campfire, grill, pool, and bathroom. There is a small fenced in area and a 5 acre area that is mostly fenced but has a natural vegetation fence in Spring and Summer. The host went out of their way to make our trip very special! They encouraged us to bring friends and have picnics and grill out! We had an excellent time!
What other types of private dog parks are available?
Dog water parks
Many hosts have added water features like pools and/or are nearby lakes or rivers.
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Barrington area are 5 stars.
