I do have three dogs that would be in my house. They bark on occasion, but not typically. Once you’re on the back lawn or in the fields, you’d be far enough away from the house you would not hear any of my dogs and I would not be letting them out during your visit.

You're welcome to bring your own chairs to enjoy the little beach area! - Water: The outdoor spigot will be shut off for winter, so please bring drinking water for yourself and your pup. - Dog waste: Please carry out all dog waste, as trash cans will not be available during the winter months. Please do not use our household trash. If your pup goes well into the woods, you're welcome to leave it there. :) --- 🐾 WELCOME TO OUR LAKESIDE SNIFFSPOT! Open year-round, this private 5+ acre Sniffspot offers plenty of room to roam, explore, and swim on a beautiful peninsula extending into Balch Lake. Park at the top of the hill and enjoy a scenic walk down, giving your pup a true "Sniffari" experience along the way. At the end, you'll be rewarded with peaceful lake views and a wonderful spot for your dog to explore, splash, and play. Prefer not to walk? You're welcome to drive directly down to the lake access area. The property is unfenced but very private, with the peninsula providing a natural barrier and minimal outside traffic. A FEW THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR VISIT - Access road: The road is sand and gravel. Sturdy footwear is recommended if walking. - Road conditions: Rain and seasonal weather can create ruts, and the road is due for grading. - Driving down: SUVs and trucks are recommended. Sedans can typically make it down as well (ours does!), but please use your best judgment, particularly during wet, icy, or snowy conditions. - Lake activity: Balch Lake is shared, so you may see boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and occasionally dogs accompanying boaters on the water. - Sounds across the lake: Sound travels easily over water, so people and dogs may sound much closer than they actually are. - Off-leash safety: As with any unfenced property, please make sure your dog has reliable recall or keep them leashed according to their abilities and your comfort level. - Winter visits: Please plan accordingly, as seasonal amenities will be unavailable and paths, roads, and shoreline areas may be slippery. Located in Warren, just under 30 minutes from Plymouth, and minutes away from the Baker River and other lovely walks and attractions, is 29 acres of private trails and bushwhacking, backed by conservation (also great bushwhacking!) and National Forest after that. There is a dog on site if you’re looking for doggy playtime and someone to run with- or you can venture alone with a small amount of notice. This site also hosts two pet-friendly forest Airbnb’s though it’s not usual to run into others. There is a small-ish vernal pond (usually stays somewhat full all year) at the bottom of the property if you’re looking to play in the mud- if not it’s easy to avoid. There are penned chickens in a coop at the main dwelling.

If you plan to use the pool please add it to your reservation by selecting it under extras. We also have fresh eggs for sale from our backyard chickens. $4 a dozen. Enjoyable farm fields with lots of room for dogs to roam and play. Wildlife does show up at times, anywhere from deer, turkeys, skunks and porcupines. Our main field does abut a golf course, and often get stray balls fly over the fence into our field. To avoid being hit by one, I’d recommend staying more towards the middle to right of the field. During deer season we do require the owner and dog to be wearing orange, and don’t have guests come on Saturdays. We do hay our fields in the summer (May/June-September) time, and once that begins we will set up a schedule with specific areas that can be utilized.

Welcome to our little dog-friendly retreat! We offer a fully fenced-in play area where pups can safely run, explore, and relax. There is also access to the rest of the yard, but because of nearby traffic, we only recommend venturing outside the fenced area for dogs with reliable recall. On warmer days, dogs can cool off in the kiddie pool, and we provide plenty of toys for playtime. All toys and water bowls are thoroughly sanitized between visits, and labeled bins are available for used toys to help us keep everything clean for every guest. We do not use pesticides or insecticides anywhere on the property, making the space as natural and pet-safe as possible. However, because we avoid chemical treatments, we cannot guarantee the yard is completely tick-free. Poop bags and a designated waste receptacle are provided, and we kindly ask that everyone clean up after their pup. We also keep bottled water available for humans because both pups and their people deserve to stay hydrated! Our space is especially great for reactive or nervous dogs, and we’re more than happy to accommodate individual needs to help every pup feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free during their visit.

Lots of room to run and play ball or frisbee! Pond can be used by the dogs at your discretion. Pond is not treated or tested but my dogs used to get in it. There are turtles, frogs, geese (please chase the geese away!), ducks and maybe other wildlife at the pond too. Separately there is 40 acres of woods. See the map I drew in the photos.
