This is a beautiful yard! My dog, Charlize, loved being able to run and play with all the toys that are available. She also went into the pool and the pond. The area is clean, dog bags, water, seating, shade are all available. We would definitely return!

Ranch Barto was fabulous for our two energetic dogs. It brought us such joy to watch them run free and explore. The park was clean, well-stocked, and provided so many interesting toys and landscapes to explore. We recommend it!

This is Moxxi's favorite spot. He always finds much to explore and sniff out. The first half he explores and then we usually play some training games and run. We both have a great time!

Brilliant time again, despite snow and cold. Ellie kept looking for the muddy pool, which is thankfully frozen over. Instead she raced over rocks, followed trails, and bounced around on the hay bales.

Moxxi was in heaven here. There was lots of room to run and explore, and it wasn’t all flat, which he loves. He had fun climbing and jumping up on big boulders.

Many types of toys available, and two really distinct areas - one fairly open yard that's great for fetch, and a rocky area that's fun to explore.

Thank you for the fantastic play area. We had such an awesome time! Our dogs loved it. It was so nice being able to go somewhere new to play without any other dogs (we have one very anxious pup and one that’s dominant/occasionally reactive). We will definitely be back to play.

What a wonderful space! Hills to race up and down, rocks to scramble on, logs to climb, and toys and sniffs galore. Marley had so much fun running and playing with his bestie. We are already looking forward to coming back!

Our two dogs had such a great time! Our one dog is dog reactive so it was nice to finally be able to bring him to a larger area without having to worry. There’s was plenty of slave for fetch and new things for them to explorer. We can’t wait to bring them back there.

Great space, lots to play with. My dogs were tired out quickly and we had to play in shifts. Awesome place to play. Dog smiles for sure

Ranch Barto Play Park was the perfect sniff spot. My dog enjoyed sniffing all the areas, including the pond, pool, walking trails, and sandbox. She enjoyed playing with the agility equipment and playing with the toys. She even made a new friend, named Big Foot!

We loved our experience! A few things to consider when bringing a small dog:
Boulder areas were fun, but a bit precarious for little or senior dogs.
Next time we will keep our dog on leash in those areas. The open run areas were fine for our senior doggie.
The drive too is beautiful. The space had so many great explore areas!
Highly recommend & we will be back for sure :)
What other types of private dog parks are available?
Dog water parks
Many hosts have added water features like pools and/or are nearby lakes or rivers.
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 98% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Cross Plains area are 5 stars.
