Mind Your Manorville Private Dog Park

Fully Fenced
1 acre

Hi! Welcome to our 3/4 acre fully fenced yard. Foliage provides a large amount of privacy and our spot is generally quiet, with rare sightings of neighbors and wildlife (hawks, birds, squirrels). We have a hose you can use, and a pergola with seating and chairs to relax and an outlet if needed. Our fire pit and firewood is available for safe use (please ask first). Two gates are located on either side of the house which are latched. A third gate is present along our neighbors fence which is latched and secured with a zip tie and bungee - a small gap exists. We have reactive dogs and know the struggle of finding a quiet place to enjoy. Our neighbor has a young dog that sometimes barks along the fence until they come and retrieve her. If you’d like to avoid tall grass, our yard is mowed/trimmed every other Thursday. Send us a message to determine what days it’s been mowed to enjoy a manicured yard visit. The pool is CLOSED. If you plan to enjoy the pool, please be sure your dog is wearing a life jacket and supervised at all times. Do not allow them to scratch at the side of the pool - guide them to use the stairs for entry and exist. NO GLASS near the pool or in the yard. Be sure to check yourself and dogs for ticks after a visit! Continuous tick preventatives are recommended for your outdoor pets! Let us know if you have any questions. We hope you can enjoy Mind Your Manorville! *If you are bringing a foster dog to SniffSpot- they sniff for free! Please let us know. **If you are Black, Indigenous and/or queer, your dog sniffs for free- please let us know! **Our next door neighbor has rare visitors that bring their dogs- if this ruins your Sniff, please let us know and we will comp your Sniff! We are on Unkechaug land.

Private dog park

Fetch and swim forest

Partially Fenced
3 acres

At the entrance is a 5.5 foot 1 acre closed off cattle fenced area. The fence is tall and heavy duty and separate from the swimming area. The fencing is all of our It front and side yard. The back yard is the forest and swimming area. Still all private from any other dogs or people. Straight ahead from where you park with the fenced area entrance on your left, will lead you down a small mossy old boat launch/trail. Once you reach the bottom you will be on a peninsula and surrounded by the Quinebaug river on 3/4 sides. The fourth side is the steep cliff that leads up to our to the edge of the fenced area. It is not fenced but nearly impossible for your dog to get out unless they are a very competitive swimmer or rock climber. Or they run up the small trail you came through. I hope you enjoy the space for your time as much as we do.

Frequently asked questions about Durham dog water parks

Why are private dog water parks better than public dog parks in Durham?

Private dog water parks in Durham eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Durham's 48 private dog water parks offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Durham dog water parks compared to public dog parks?

Durham dog water parks are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Durham dog water parks eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Durham dog water parks safe for reactive dogs?

Durham owners of reactive dogs choose dog water parks because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy swimming and water play while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Durham reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Durham dog water parks?

Yes! Durham dog water parks provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a facility featuring pools, splash pads, or water play areas specifically designed for dogs to swim and cool off at their own pace without stress. Many Durham dog water parks offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Durham dog water parks good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Durham dog water parks because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Durham avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog water parks eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Durham dog water parks work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Durham dog water parks because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Durham dog water parks with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Durham dog owners say about dog water parks?

Reviews of Durham dog water parks consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Big Dog's Backyard- 1 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Shelton is particularly praised in Durham. Read reviews to see real experiences from Durham dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Durham dog water parks?

Durham hosts maintain their own dog water parks and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Durham hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Durham dog water park listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
