Groverland

Fully Fenced
2 acres

The pool is open!! Please remember - it needs to be added as an “extra” and there is a limit of 3 dogs in the pool for the longevity of our filter and pump :) There has been some confusion around booking the pool - you need to book the yard for at least as long as you book the yard. The yard blocks the spot on the calendar, not the pool. For example, if you book the yard for 90 minutes, the longest you can book the pool is 90 minutes (you can book the pool for less (e.g. 60 min or 30 min) if you prefer. Groverland is a 2 acre fenced yard so you and your furry friend(s) have plenty of room to roam. Please be sure the gate latches when you come in and when you leave. We live next to a very busy road and want to ensure everyone's safety! We have toys in a bin on the steps to the deck. Feel free to use them, but please put them back when you are done. There are poop bags and wet wipes on the toy station as well. The poop bucket is next to the gate you came in. Water dishes will be on the pavers between the pool and the house. Use of the pool is an add on, so please be sure to mark that when you make your reservations. We will provide towels, pool toys, and life jackets for your use. Please hang the towels and life jackets on the fence when you have completed your visit. We do ask that you keep barking to a minimum. I have grumpy neighbors who disapprove of the Spot :) We are open from 10am - 4pm, but will sometimes make exceptions, so feel free to ask. Now for the Debbie Downer part - as the spot has gotten more popular, we are seeing things getting damaged and, as a result, have added a few rules. If you damage something, please let us know so we can address it. Things happen, so do not worry, we just need to know so we take care of it before the next guest. Pool rules: 1) No dogs on the pool furniture 2) Please do not prop the pool gate open Let us know if you have any questions!

Winding Brook Farm: 15 Acre Partially Fenced Private Dog Park 💕 Every Visit Helps Rescue Animals 💕

Partially Fenced
15 acres

Hi! I’m Joanne, and this is my dog Nifty’s favorite place in the world—so I thought I’d share it with other wonderful dogs and their people. We have 15 private acres with woods, open fields, and river access, and it’s been such a gift for my dog to have a safe space to run freely. I know not every dog thrives at dog parks, so I wanted to create a peaceful alternative. This space is especially loved by dogs who need a little extra room or prefer a quieter environment. The property is fenced along the two “long sides” which encourages your dog to stay nearby but with lots of roaming space. The fence is NOT fully secure. Please see the section about fencing. Near the cabin, there’s a cozy seating area where you can relax under the trees while your dog enjoys the space. We’re so happy to share this space with you and your pup! It’s meant to feel simple, calm, and restorative. 🐾 A Space That Gives Back This Sniffspot was created not just for dogs to enjoy, but to make a difference. Net proceeds are donated to animal-focused charities supporting rescue, care, and second chances. When you book here, your pup isn’t just getting a great place to run—you’re also helping other animals find a better life. ❤️

Christina's Private Dog Park In Avon with water access!

Unfenced
0.5 acres

A little over a half acre of unfenced in yard. Our property includes roaring brook that runs through the back - my dogs love swimming there! We also have a public trail that runs through our yard and our neighbors on the street (not really maintained but walkable for sure- we call it bear highway since that’s all we see using it.) We also have a playground available for dogs & kids alike. We also added a covered gazebo for additional seating or shade. We do have a kiddie pool we can fill and leave out as well. We also have a smaller fenced in area in our middle lot where our dogs do not play and do not have access to. There are chairs there to sit if you need and a fire pit! Our property is set back from the road quite a bit. You come down the long driveway and you would park in front of our skeleton where the driveway curves. You are welcome to pull down as far as you want to the water by the tree line. You can throw any trash or poop bags in the green trash bin by the road (it’s bear proof so anything is fine!). We hope to host you soon :) Ps: our ‘lovely’ neighbor recently put up a small white fence in the lower lot- please try to not cross that. You are welcome to walk the path the other way though! ;)

Fetch and swim forest

Partially Fenced
3 acres

At the entrance is a 5.5 foot 1 acre closed off cattle fenced area. The fence is tall and heavy duty and separate from the swimming area. The fencing is all of our It front and side yard. The back yard is the forest and swimming area. Still all private from any other dogs or people. Straight ahead from where you park with the fenced area entrance on your left, will lead you down a small mossy old boat launch/trail. Once you reach the bottom you will be on a peninsula and surrounded by the Quinebaug river on 3/4 sides. The fourth side is the steep cliff that leads up to our to the edge of the fenced area. It is not fenced but nearly impossible for your dog to get out unless they are a very competitive swimmer or rock climber. Or they run up the small trail you came through. I hope you enjoy the space for your time as much as we do.

Frequently asked questions about Ellington dog water parks

What types of dog water parks are available in Ellington?

Ellington has 51 dog water parks offers swimming pools, splash pads, and waterfront water access. Whether you need a fully-fenced space for poor recall, a quiet location for a reactive dog, appropriate sizing for small breeds, gentle terrain for seniors, or specific amenities like water features or agility equipment, you'll find options in Ellington. Filter by fencing, size, distractions, and amenities to match your needs.

When can I book dog water parks in Ellington?

Ellington dog water parks are available based on host scheduling—many operate dawn to dusk or even 24/7. Unlike public dog parks with rigid hours, you choose the exact time that works for you. Check individual Ellington listings for specific availability. Flexible scheduling is especially helpful for dogs with specific needs: reactive dogs who do better during quieter times, working dog owners needing early/late slots, or seniors needing cooler morning hours.

How do I book a dog water park in Ellington?

Browse 51 available dog water parks in Ellington, select your preferred date and time, and reserve through Sniffspot. Most Ellington locations offer instant booking. You'll receive confirmation, exact address, and entry instructions. The booking process takes just minutes—perfect when your dog needs exercise, whether that's a reactive dog requiring safe space, a puppy needing socialization, or an energetic dog burning off steam.

What's the most popular dog water park in Ellington?

Groverland is highly rated among Ellington dog water parks, known for excellent amenities and positive reviews. However, the "best" spot depends on your dog's needs—reactive dogs might prioritize privacy and quiet, puppies might need secure fencing, seniors might want flat terrain, while active dogs might want maximum running space. Browse Ellington listings to find your ideal match.

Can I use Ellington dog water parks for training sessions?

Yes! Ellington dog water parks are perfect for training because they're private and distraction-free. Work on recall, practice water confidence building, dock diving practice, or swimming-based fitness training, help reactive dogs build confidence, socialize puppies, or work on obedience—all without public dog park unpredictability. Many Ellington professional trainers use these spaces for client sessions with all types of dogs.

Do Ellington dog water parks accommodate multiple dogs?

Most Ellington dog water parks welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings for specifics). If you have several dogs—especially if some are reactive toward strange dogs or if you have mixed ages (puppies and seniors)—private dog water parks let them play together safely without outside interference or triggers.

What amenities do Ellington dog water parks offer?

Ellington dog water parks feature amenities like dedicated swimming pools or splash pads, entry ramps for dogs of all sizes, poolside shading, and fresh water stations. Many hosts provide extras: poop bags, water stations, toys, shaded seating, parking, even dog wash stations. Each Ellington listing clearly shows what's available. Look for amenities matching your dog's needs: shade for heat-sensitive breeds, water for swimmers, agility for active dogs, or privacy features for anxious pets.

Are Ellington dog water parks available year-round?

Most dog water parks operate seasonally (typically April-October), though some feature heated pools for year-round use. Many Ellington hosts maintain their dog water parks throughout all seasons. Filter for covered or climate-controlled options if weather matters. Indoor dog water parks provide year-round access regardless of Ellington weather conditions. Check individual listings for seasonal availability and policies.
