Bayside Field and Farm Private Dog Park

Fully Fenced
1 acre

Almost an acre of pastureland overlooking Jacoby Creek Valley for dogs to sniff, roam, play, and most of all be off leash and in nature. Come with your dog alone or bring some friends and dog pals (up to 6 total) to romp and chase and play while you relax. There are some toys and obstacles, water, and lots to dig. Please bring your own balls. There may be cattle in the adjoining field below, occasionally deer though rarely in the daytime. Chairs are set for a pastoral view, particularly lovely at sunset. People and cars may go by on the driveway. The spot is all yours when you are there and with respect to reactive dogs, I won't greet you unless we set that up in advance. I want the dogs to feel that this is their space and we won't intrude. If your plans change you can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours prior to your reservation through the app but it does not allow changes after that. The new picnic table is meant for your use, please keep dogs with muddy paws off the table. Please no smoking or using while visiting. Enjoy!

Dancing Dandies dog run: near the Headwaters Forest Reserve

Fully Fenced
2.5 acres

This is a purpose built "dog run" exclusively for Sniffspot guests. Driving out the old Elk River Rd. provides nice valley views and array of farm animals. This 2.5 acer space is truly unique and gorgeous, with lush 360 degree sweeping views of towering Redwoods and mowed Perennial Rye grass. In addition the "mirco climate" is more ideal with less fog and more blue sky days than downtown Eureka or Arcata. Not only will your dog enjoy this large open space, we've added a bench and awning (coming soon) to keep you comfortable during your visit. This location is very ideal when visiting the Headwaters Forest Reserve just one minute up the road! Some guests like to come first to exercise their dogs before taking them on leash into Headwaters. Hope you and your pooch enjoy it.

Margo's Field near Zoo, BOGO

Fully Fenced
0.62 acres

This 1/2 acre open space is rough; not manicured, but better than it used to be! It is a work in progress. :o) Bringing and Removing POOP bags is ESSENTIAL. Once inside the heavy gate, you will find a long grassy driveway leading into a large undeveloped parcel. Please feel free to drive in and park at the north end of the driveway. The fence on the east side of the driveway may not be solid as wildlife pass through that way. If the neighbor's large wood gate open on the east side of the driveway, you may close it, but PLEASE open it on your way out. The large parcel is fully enclosed. There is also a 4' wide 'run' along the south and west sides. Please send a message with your reservation with a description number of your dog(s) -- and it would be helpful if you tell me how you are using the space. You do not need to pay extra for more than 1 dog. Just, please, be reasonable.

Frequently asked questions about Eureka small dog parks

What do private small dog parks in Eureka offer that public parks don't?

Private small dog parks in Eureka offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for appropriately-sized exercise, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Eureka can't guarantee any of this. With 5 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Eureka?

Yes! Most of Eureka's 5 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Eureka listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting small dog parks in Eureka?

Puppies can visit Eureka small dog parks as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore appropriately-sized exercise without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Eureka trainers specifically use small dog parks for puppy development.

How do I find private small dog parks near me in Eureka?

Browse Eureka's 5 small dog parks on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Eureka listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Bayside Field and Farm Private Dog Park is particularly popular among Eureka dog owners.

Can I rent small dog parks in Eureka by the hour?

Yes! All 5 small dog parks in Eureka are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Eureka dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot small dog parks and public dog parks in Eureka?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Eureka mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 5 Eureka small dog parks give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys appropriately-sized exercise and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor small dog parks in Eureka?

Yes! Eureka has climate-controlled indoor small dog parks perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Eureka locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Eureka weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Eureka small dog parks help with dog training?

Eureka trainers love small dog parks because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice confidence building in appropriately-sized spaces, recall for toy breeds, or socialization with size-matched playmates, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for appropriately-sized exercise.
