The Gulch Lake

Unfenced
100 acres

The ultimate dog escape! A certified organic ranch and dreamy lake surrounded by rolling hills! Your dogs can experience wild foul, fish and cattle or spend their time time swimming away at the lake! There is a picnic table (not in the best shape, but can fit about 4 people) for your stuff and a great combination of sun and shade surrounding the lake! We recently added a 1.2 mile trail around our property. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Accessing our lake requires a bit of a walk through uneven terrain with cow holes, which may be challenging for some. If you have difficulty walking on rough ground, this Sniffspot may not be the best fit. While there is a path, it is not perfectly smooth, and less active visitors may find it hard to navigate. Cows do roam freely in the same field. They are harmless, but please be sure to close all gates securely when entering or leaving the area. We recommend ignoring the cows—they’ll leave you alone if you do the same. Our house is the only house on the right side of the road. Please do not stop/disturb the first houses on the left side of the driveway. Keep coming down our driveway and park near the light blue green house on the right. If you’re wondering if we test for toxic blue green algae, the answer is yes! The test was negative! Please see our pictures for confirmation of a negative test! Test performed on 6/1/25

Private dog park in the middle of the city

Partially Fenced
10 acres

Experience a one-of-a-kind private park unlike anything else in the area! Nestled in a serene natural setting, this unique rental space offers a perfect escape for gatherings, events, or simply enjoying the outdoors. (**Please Note:** Access to most of the property requires crossing a creek. If it has recently rained, water levels may prevent access to certain areas. The last photo in the listing shows the section of the property that remains accessible when the creek is too high. Also, the property requires high maintenance due to its size. My self or my worker might be one the property activity doing landscaping or setting up for an event. You can massage me beforehand to find out if you will get the whole property to yourself. You are guaranteed not to have any other dog on the property during your visit.) Goats are no longer on the property.

Frequently asked questions about Fairfield dog hiking trails

Where can I find dog hiking trails in Fairfield?

Fairfield has 7 private dog hiking trails available through Sniffspot, offering natural exploration and varied terrain in completely private settings. These locations range from compact spaces to properties spanning 500+ acres. Whether you need a space for your reactive dog, puppy socialization, senior dog gentle exercise, or high-energy play, Fairfield dog hiking trails provide safe, private environments. Filter for "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, or fencing types to find your perfect match.

How many dog hiking trails are in Fairfield?

Fairfield offers 7 dog hiking trails ranging from compact spaces to properties spanning acres. You'll find diverse options: fully-fenced for escape artists, indoor climate-controlled for year-round use, swimming pools for hot days, agility courses for training, and more. Each Fairfield dog hiking trail listing shows detailed photos, amenities, fencing specs, and reviews from local dog owners.

Are Fairfield dog hiking trails good for all dog types?

Yes! Fairfield dog hiking trails work for every dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer without large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space, and reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. The completely private bookings mean each dog gets the environment they need. Browse Fairfield's 7 options to find spaces matching your dog's specific temperament and needs.

Will I encounter other dogs at Fairfield dog hiking trails?

Not a chance. Fairfield dog hiking trails operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Fairfield owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.

Are Fairfield dog hiking trails safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Yes! Fairfield dog hiking trails provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment without overwhelming encounters. Many Fairfield dog owners specifically choose dog hiking trails for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Can puppies use Fairfield dog hiking trails?

Absolutely! Fairfield dog hiking trails are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

How do I choose the best dog hiking trail in Fairfield?

Start by filtering Fairfield's 7 dog hiking trails for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Fairfield's The Gulch Lake with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Fairfield owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.

What are Fairfield's dog hiking trail requirements?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Fairfield host may have additional rules on their listing. Most dog hiking trails welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
