We don’t want a stray hunting dog to interfere with someone’s Sniffspot time. So we made the decision to close for 2 months. We’re sorry, it was a tough decision, but think it’s best. We promise - We’ll reopen in December 2025. Welcome to 50 acres of puppy heaven! Located off Crittenden Road in Suffolk, Virginia. Please take dirt lane, there is no house. Please do not disturb neighbors. Drive or Walk through the gate and the whole area is yours! There are walking trails in the woods, a pond to find and a river to explore. The open field is wonderful for training and or play. Your dog will love exploring this wonderful property. ***This is the country. The land is wonderful to explore but it is vacant and undeveloped. You will encounter nature, really in the spring and summer. There are ticks, snakes, uneven ground, rabbits, wet spots, etc. Please only book if you are used to the outdoors and being adventurous!*** Update from my guests comments: Wear bug spray when it’s warm, check for ticks after a visit, boots are recommended after rainy days, dogs may get muddy bring towels and look for the new mailbox to identify the dirt lane off the road. Allison's Private Wooded Retreat Dogs Welcome Gates NC

You can cook, have a picnic, hang out in the woods (currently a burn ban no fires at this time but gas is fine) hang a hammock relax or walk around and explore. I allow my dog to swim in the pond that is at your own risk I would not personally swim in it as a human but I think dogs are fine to swim in there just be careful there are going to be ticks, wildlife and it is a very woodsy grassy environment, very nature outside oriented. Bug spray may be necessary. Hang out in the woods or by the field/pond. Bushcraft ok but no chopping down live trees. You can walk around the edge of the field or walk around a little bit in the woods there are no really long trails but there is plenty of area to hang out and explore. Play ball etc.

We have two dogs, but they will not be in the yard during reservations. Our yard is surrounded by a 6-foot-tall wooden fence. There’s a wood deck with seating and a fire pit for your enjoyment. Bottled water is available at no charge for humans and pups, in the mini fridge. Your welcome to bring your own beverages and snacks. Dog bowls, kiddy pool, and hose are in the yard for the pups.
